As some of you know, I recently started a new job where I'm going to be traveling a lot.  So I figured that if I'm gonna be stuck in hotel rooms at night, I want something to do.  Game.  That is why tonight, I picked up a new laptop.  A MSI GS70.  Specifically, this one.  http://www.frys.com/product/8046224 I got it for $1607 which is about $200 less than Frys wanted.  I know that there are more powerful or faster models, but I really like the understated looks of this one, and how light it is.

Yo... That is awesome! I sort of want a gaming laptop... Not for gaming, But I'm sure with the specs they'd outlast any laptop on the market right now for some years.

Each time I buy a regular laptop, Like a year from then it feels slow even after a complete reformat.

Yeah, I got a 2 year warranty on it.  I typically don't spend that kind of money without protecting my investment.

bought a Asus gaming laptop back in 2008-2009 time frame and will say it was the worst money spent. Laptops in general are a waste of money when you buy a higher end gaming one. I spent around 2k on mine and the funny thing is I still use it today even tho It needed the following replaced of those years.

    1.Entire Keyboard
    2.Battery Charger
    3.CPU/GPU Fan
    4.GPU

I also had to rebuild the dam thing several times.
Also stuck a few new harddrives in it for good measure.

I managed to pick up a Dell XFR E6400 http://www.dell.com/us/business/p/latitude-e6400-xfr/pd For free when I was in Afghanistan. Now this laptop isn't really all that powerful but it sure is the best travel laptop ive ever had. No need to worry about it getting beat up when flying and all that.

That's a lot of money[to me], but it has some impressive specs for a laptop. I hope you enjoy it for many years of trouble free fun! Good idea to get the extended warranty.

I spent about that same amount of money on my last laptop and it has lasted me nearly 8 years.  I like to by once and keep it for a long time.  I can't see needing more than this for about that same amount of time.

But, yeah prob already got one, laughs.  At 1080p, those specs should hold you for a good while. But, dose it make you cookies or breakfast!
