First great build. second, the slipstream fans die really fast. I suggest getting/trading to scyth S-flex fans. third, ocz freeze can clog up the loop. so watch it and dont give it a chance to still. keep it moving. the best is to go with Distilled + silver coils (.999 pure). After 2 years of silver coils... ive only had to drain my loops once, and that was to add more parts. When i previously used ocz freeze, dyes, and other additives (excluding petras pt nuke), I would come across cleaning my loop at least once every 6 months. with the power of the mcp355 and 655, tube length incase will hardly matter on the flow/temp. these pumps are built strong. even more so if you have an eiheim or a fishtank equivalent pump. As for static pressure, honestly with the 1600 sflex fans, you really wont have to worry about anything. I use the 1600 ones myself with noctua fans and my rig stays cool and blew cool air to my face so I had to re-position my rig to the floor.... again its all preference in the end. but im very firm in my belief that DW + silver = best ever.

zimbambadu I went with the SR-1. Apparently it can handle fan speeds up to 2000 rpm. I'm not sure what this means exactly as RPM doesn't exactly equal CFM, but I think that I will go with lower RPM but higher CFM fans. The SR-1 was specifically designed to drop into a system with low airflow (800RPM's) the GTX will also do the same thing. Overall the GT, GTX & SR-1 work well with high flow fans (2000RPM's) the GT is the only one not really designed for low flow fans. ---------------------------------------------- So I dropped the 2 new 140mm fans in the case... and... temps actually dropped. Scythe 140x25mm SlipStream SM1425SL12H - 92.4 CFM http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/sc14slsm92cf.html I have 2 of the above fans running at 1350 RPM that have replaced the crappy 1000RPM fans that shipped with my Obsidian 800d case. I have to say I am impressed... GPU Loop: The GTX 295 now sits at a nice 35c at idle instead of 39-40c and under full load on Furmark for 1 hour it peaked at 46c overall a 4c drop in temp at full load and 5c temp drop idle. CPU Loop: This one was a bit harder to calc as temps are all over sometimes. But before I tested the system with the new fans I had it running for 2 hours idle to see where the temps sat at. ELEET reported CPU 30c 44,42,43,41 (case closed up). With the new fans ELEET is reading 26c 40,41,40,39 (case closed) The temps overall dropped and it was as simple as getting 2 better fans... to top it off they are just as silent as the Cooler Master fans at 1350 RPM. But if I crank them up they can be heard.

Awesome stuff! I love that 800D and trying to talk myself to replace my Lian Li G70 with it. Tons better features and allows awesome work like yours. Your design is awesome, and I have the same feelings about being able to move that 655 pump. Did you have any other alternatives on putting the 655 pump anywhere else? Looking at your pics, is it possible to move it to the right side of the vid card, and rotate it to where the inlet was pointing upwards towards the res and the outlet facing to the left? Hope that makes sense.

Hope that makes sense. The only thing with that placement is it will be covering the air passing from the bottom. the Dual Rad setup relies on that 140mm fan to be there. I could move the pump next to the smaller 335 but than it would be a mass of tubing right there. I have an idea that will allow me to make the stack look better and cleaner, but i will not be able to show that off until I get the 2 GTX 480's. The only other option I have is getting another 335 with a 1/2" top... which could be a good route to go to make the case look a little cleaner and would allow both pumps to be in the same location.

Yeah, I figured that, but it is also true that not all 120mm fans are created equal. From the wording used to describe the SR-1, and the density of the fins (greater than the GTX), I would suspect a point of diminishing returns. I could be wrong though, things don't always work as I expect. :p I found a great article here on the different radiators: link Do you know if anyone is putting out any estimates of how many watts the overclocked 480's are going to put out? Also, thanks for the tip about the 140mm fans, I'm glad it made such an impact on your system. It bodes quite well for the rest of us. If they start coming out with good 140mm fans, I might grab a 280 instead of a 240 for my second loop. There should be plenty of room on the bottom of the case for it. I don't know that that will gain me any more in heat dissipation, but it's something to consider.

My guess on 1 480 under full load is at 300watts even than with 2 that is only 600 watts on my 900watt rated 240 rad. So I am not to worried about it. :)

I mainly want the 140mm form factor because the fans tend to be quieter the bigger you go. Same sort of reason I went with the SR-1 so I can get away with low fan RPMs. I'm sick and tired of fan noise. I'm sure my pumps will make noise but they don't seem to be as high pitched as some of my current fans get. I guess I just need to make some measurements to see if I can get the black ice gtx 280 in there.

I hear you on sound... but in any case, 120mm or 140mm none of the fans I have worked with can even get 1/2 as close in noise as a stock GTX 295 fan spinning at 100%.

That's the truth. I have a 295 and when I'm playing I dunno if I'm listening to the game or the card fan. I suspect that the 480's are going to be just as bad. I've been wanting to WC for a long time, this just pushed me over the edge. I don't seem to be able to find any EVGA Hydro Coppers for pre-order anywhere. I might just grab the normal 480 and put waterblocks on them. I dunno if that would make them easier to sell if I decide to upgrade at a later point.

Do you think the GTX 240 rad would be enough to cool two Fermi cards?? I'm thinking on getting the koolance blocks and cool them with the external Exos 2.5 instead of adding another 240 rad down there... Any ideas?

The GTX 240 rad I am using is rated for 900watts and keeps my GTX 295 at 35c idle. If it can't keep 2 GTX 480's cool enough than I have a problem. But I am sure it will be more than fine.

I think I'm going to try and put a gtx 280 in there. According to reviews I saw it was able to keep up with a lot of 3x120 rads. I don't have the link at the moment, but the heat dissipation was comparable on the same test system, and at medium fan speeds too. It's about an inch wider and 2 inches longer. Obviously that is rounded because metric / standard conversions. My case is still in the mail so I can't measure yet, or see if that is just too close to my PSU.

Well I took the plunge the other day and upgraded my PSU. My Silverstone 1500ST should arrive today along with the other 3 fans for my 360 radiator so I can finally get a push pull setup going. I will post images later once I have it installed.

I ran into some issues installing the Silverstone 1500ST.. In general the PSU works great & runs.. but the down side is... it will not fit properly in the Obsidian 800D case. Also the cables being very new I spent a few hours rotating and bending them in 360 motions to get them nice a loose to install properly. On the back of the PSU it has a huge plug input that sticks out a bit. See image below and you will see what I mean about not fitting. Since I have already done mods to my case that voided the warranty I will have to do some more modding around the PSU area. As with this PSU I will not be doing anything that will void its warranty. I guess I could Vinyl Black the cables since those can be repurchased from Silverstones website since this is a 100% modular PSU. Adding the other 3 fans to allow the Push/Pull setup seems to have dropped temps by 2C idle, haven;t had a chance to see how it fairs under load.

So as usual I can't keep my hands off this system... its a curse I know. I went ahead and started to make the adjustments to remove the 665 from the system as I just do not like the pump sitting in plain view. While the entire idea of the 665 was to make sure I had proper flow, I truly believe the 335 with a top will provide enough flow in the system. If I am wrong I will find out fairly quickly and can re adjust as needed. I will post images of the updates once I get my 2 GTX 480 HC FTW cards to show you just what I mean. gomnadz Sledghammer, so how do you like the DEMCiflex fan dust filters? While I no longer see large specs of dust and lint in my system I have already noticed a fair amount of very fine dust on the fan blades. but in general the filters I am using are some of the best and do make a difference. I will snap some images when I get a chance.
