Well guys I just had to switch over to EVGA. Not sure if XS has changed over the years or if it is me. I just seem to feel more at home here now.

Howdy all! I've decided to give crunching a try, currently have BOINC loaded up, just waiting for -oneunit in F@H to complete. I have a i7-2600K to split between WCG and F@H, but not sure how best to do both. x days on F@H, x on WCG? Get them to play nice together at the same time? Definitely some playing around needed here. I see the stickies, awesome!

I see the stickies, awesome! Welcome! You can split CPU load between BOINC and folding. Since the 2600K can run 8-threads, you could start up the folding client with -smp 4. Then in BOINC, go to Tools -> Computing Preferences. Click on the "processor usage" tab and enter 50% for the field that says "On multiprocessor systems, use at most". This will put 50% load to folding and 50% load to BOINC.

I can't believe myself for coming on over to WCG. I'm just checking out the new turf and have already installed the software. Already "crunching" for those few projects. I do like the energy projects, kind of what got my attention the most.

OK, so I'm late. I have one dual hex core server running all WCG. It will take a couple of days to reinstall new OS's on the other 3, configure, update, program and get them running.

Welcome, Horvat, glad to have you here! I mentioned this in your other thread, but you don't really need to reinstall the OS for crunching if you don't have other reasons. I'm assuming you were running Linux for bigadv/bigbeta, and the BOINC Linux install is pretty easy.

I kind of like WCG. I like the fact that you choose projects to crunch first as your priority, and then crunch others in the spare time. I will fold and crunch, just not at the same time. I wrapped up what current FAH projects today, so I can now crunch for tomorrow.

Just joined few days ago, crunching FAH since 8 months ago. Now still trying to get familiar with WCG. Currently testing on a Notebook with P8400. Will be switching a 2600k FAH cruncher over to WCG once it reaches 10m points there in ~1.5 month time. By the way is there any benefit of crunching WCG in Ubuntu? In FAH Linux generates higher PPD. Thanks.
