Hey. my name's Jason, and this is my first post. I built a nice little rig for gaming with the following components - Case: Corsair Obsidian 350D
- Mobo: Asus Maximus VII Gene
- RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3-2400 RAM
- CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K (OC'd to 4.6GHz)
- SSD: Samsung 850 Pro 256GB
- Cooler: Swiftech H220-x
- PSU: Corsair RM850.
On its way is a GTX 780 Ti Classified. What advice do you have to keep this GPU happy while inside this case. Any advice is much appreciated. Jason

I am sure if you don't play some nice games like Metro 2033/Last Light, the GPU will feel sad :(\ Metro 2033/Last Light Redux are coming on Augest 27th :)

I notice that Swiftech H220-X and I saw some picture where people install CPU/GPU under one 240mm radiator. I don't know about temps but you can think about watercooling GPU. Look example this... I would love to ask him about temps of hardware...

I play a lot of racing games (Shift 2, Dirt 3, Assetto Corsa, Project CARS, etc.) at 1080p / 1440p / 4k. Until I know what times will be insisde the rig, I'm not going to OC the GPU (I know, boring, but better to know what you're up against first). One thing I am looking to get though, is the backplate for this GPU. This is my first proper gaming desktop build too. Jason

Backplate is good thing, visual, protection and heat transfer. You have video clips over net about installation backplate on graphic cards.

I got got my 780 FTW at newegg and got the code for Rise of the Triad. I did have let EVGA know that you want the game, it's not automatic. I also got it when I bought my EVGA 1000W P2. :) http://www.evga.com/articles/00764/

Thanks Ahh, so unless it's done through EVGA direct, the triad deal isn't guaranteed. What should I send EVGA - since the card is in transit - as proof of order / ownership, and to whom should it be sent to?

Some promotions are from Nvidia, and those sorts of promotions must be done pursuant to Nvidia's terms and conditions, such as receiving the code directly from the retailer(not the manufacturer). The Rise of the Triad bundle, however, is an EVGA promotion. Read through the article to see what you need to do, but generally you just need to register your card, upload a copy of your invoice, and submit for the code through the article page.

Reasons I like EVGA: When a complete desktop-building n00b like me calls up tech support and asks "what does the LN2 switch do", and rather than get laughed off, learns about power thresholds, and how they can affect overclocks. When a complete desktop-building n00b like me calls up and gets walked through the installation of his new card because he wants to get it right and make sure it works. When a complete desktop-building n00b has an issue with the sound-riser on his maximus VII gene, and the eVGA rep, rather than brushing you off, walks you through diagnosing another company's board and how it behaves with a 780 Ti Classified. I sometimes thing I bought the wrong card, because it's got a 143MHz factory OC, it has an LN2 mode, and it's not exactly designed for an obsidian 350D. But when I see how much customer service I got from EVGA, and how much I've learned about my new card, I see why customers go back to EVGA for their super-high-end GPUs. Thanks to everyone who helped me yesterday with my GPU. (James, and his supervisor Justin). Jason @Daddyd, I registered the card, uploaded invoice, got my game code. Thanks!

I don't know why me not pass SkyDiver, always black screen and clock continue 1200MHz on driver stop working on same place... Only I don't have key for test and only is option with Demo, but... I pass test before, Here SkyDiver - 29.292 GPU 43.224 http://imgur.com/6u1Cw4c These tests are not valid online because no serial 3DMark 11 Xtreme + Demo X6148 - GPU 5783 http://imgur.com/hDXF06W Firestrike Xtreme + Demo 5786 GPU 6109 http://imgur.com/g4qGLnR Valid Scores are available on my MODS RIGS. I'm more than satisfied with scores only I'm concerned because SkyDiver. If we look scores I would choose this sample among 10-15 others, but this is annoying with new test.

Vlada, Are you using one of the "included BIOS", or a modified BIOS? Also, do you have your GPU switches at "stock", or at "overvolted"?

Score is increased for 50 points. http://www.3dmark.com/sd/2321730 Now no more laziness, I need to send PSU on RMA than complete testing of graphic cards. I must know what is with problem with Skydiver, driver, windows, or chip... But it's little weird how card pass loops and loops of testing Firestrike Xtreme on 2560X1440 and 3DMark 11 Xtreme and show symptoms as NVIDIA say driver crash or black screen, and how work for other people. Here is error from Event only happen with Skydiver... http://imgur.com/zBSZx6D
