NazcaC2ty_ger:  What should I be looking for on my mobile device to change it back to the mobile version?

Didn't I already post the link? http://forums.evga.com/m/ There is nothing to "look" for.  EVGA has not given you a way to go back other than knowing that you have to visite that link posted.

Hi.  Now when on the full version (on mobile only) you will see a "Back to Mobile" link on the top next to "Page Extras".  This does not appear if on a PC, only mobile.  Please note this functionality currently simply redirects to http://forums.evga.com/m/.  In the future, we may expand the functionality. Thanks,
Rob

Awesome! Thanks!

I don't know if this is a bug that can be replicated, but I just posted in the following thread: http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=1524550 and when someone quoted my post, not only did the links I created go away, but the word that I used as a link went away.  I created my links via the "Insert/Edit Link" button on the quick reply section of the thread.  I have done the same above where I changed the word thread to a link and also left the whole link next to it.  Can someone please quote this post to test.

I am still having the same problems when I get an email alert about a new PM. If I click the link in the email I go to the login page but then get redirected to the EVGA Home Page instead of to the PM. If my browser is open and I'm already logged in then everything works as it should.

I can't find your original reported complaint, but I am guessing that the person who quoted your link did not have enough posts in this forum to insert links into their posts and that is why the link and link text were automatically removed.

I think your right.  It would be nice if it would just break the link rather removing the word I set as a link.  Now the quote reads with a missing word.

Hmmm.. problem with alternating background color (or different forum styles completely) is making a signature that blends in.. other than transparent gif, which is still an issue if shadows are used.. hmm..

Question... do you like seeing the users avatars on the main forum page? Not sure if possible to change but figured would ask before looking into :)

To be clear I am talking about the avatars that show next to the forum subjects (not when you are inside the thread)

Yes I like.. would be pretty dreary without, but I think there needs to be a default avatar if the user doesn't have one.. looking right now, there are gaps that just look.. odd.

Yes I do, mentioned in a post somewhere that I liked it as it made it easier to locate a thread if the title couldn't be recalled for search. I just went to pages with dates of around the time I recalled the thread was done, scrolled keeping an eye out for the Avatar, and found what I was looking for, and reasonably fast. Kind of like, Can't remember a name but remember the face, Avatars are folks face around here so to speak.

Any way to change default time filter of 30 days to 1 day permanently for all topics I look at so I don't have to keep changing it back to one day? Can't see any option in my preferences.

Another issue.. my signature image is being scaled down to 700 x 184 (actual size is (760 x 200)... have signature width limits been reduced to 700 wide now?

Hi, This should be fixed now.  Thanks for letting us know!

Same scaling is still happening on PM messages. Not as important, but just so ya know :)

Re: New Forum Issues 2013/10/07 21:24:33 (permalink)
Haven't read the entire thread here, but skimming through last 4 or 5 pages I haven't seen this mentioned.   When you have a thread open and then re-size the window I notice 2 things:
  • The little arrow on the right hand side (that takes you to the top of the page) does not adjust to a window re-size.    When you make the window bigger it remains in its original position and, thus appears somewhere in the middle of the thread overlaying text.  Despite being out of position it still take you to the top of the page.  When you make the window smaller the arrow again remains in the same position, and exceeds the bounds of the window.
  • The Quick Reply text box at the bottom of the page does not properly re-size.  When you make the window bigger, it remains its original small size as the rest of the thread adjusts to the new window size.  When you make the window smaller it fails to the resize with the rest of the thread and extends beyond the frame of the rest of the thread.

EVGA Forum Software 2013/10/08 07:22:05 (permalink)
Coming from someone who has been writing Forum software for, holy crap, 17 years?!?! (phpBB, ASP.NET Forums and CommunityServer)  I really like the overhaul.  A few issues though:

  • I can only mark my own posts as "Helpful".  I can't mark anyone else's post as Helpful, but I do have the option to mark a post as the single Answer in a thread.  The previous version I could mark several as Helpful - which several are helpful!
  • The #23232 anchors, or javascript-to-scroll-to-post, or what looks to be "FindPost" links, seems off from using the quick reply - it doesn't scroll to the your new post.
  • Where did the "search in thread" feature go?  It's very difficult to search now, as the search only does global searches.
    • Ok, found the "Search this forum" textbox.  Still missing the Search this Thread".
  • Love the PM thread feature (I built that into ASP.NET Forums and CommunityServer many moons ago!).  But, the "PM index" page still shows individual posts.  Maybe tweak it to show only the thread's header?

All in all, pretty good re-write to be mobile-compatible (finally!!!).  Though, I wish I could zoom pics on the mobile version.

Thanks!  Yeah, i saw the link here but couldn't read through 9 pages to see if it was already asked (since one of my points above is that you cannot search within a thread any longer).

Maybe have a list of issues, or concerns, on the first post?  And a status like a normal bug tracker?
  • New or Acknowledged (meaning, unread/unconfirmed)
  • Open (meaning confirmed)
  • Resolved (meaning fixed)
  • Works for Me (meaning it was looked into and NPF)
  • Will not Fix (sorry, not going to fix that)
Hehe.  Maybe actually setup some open source bug tracker?  Instead of a 10 page-long thread?  There are so many out there and I can help if you like.
