Well it seems you are not alone Alphanerd, this is the issue I am trying to find and explain.
I just made a printscreen of your post incl my avatar showing the same thing:

Also two video's which I made showing how this bug goes to work, the first video also shows that my avatar has the ERROR one:

This second Video proves that after a few minutes the ERROR avatar is back:

I hope this is helpful.

update:

It seems that we are dealing with a random issue, because now AlphaNerd's like my avatar are working again, but for how long? no one knows:

It seems the website has trouble caching and storing saved uploaded avatars

After pressing F5, I now get this:

AlphaNerd's avatar is fine, but mine is broken again:

As you can see, this is a random bug.

2 things.
1) that back to top of page arrow is still broken http://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2040160
2) www.evga.com/forums/search.aspx?searchfor=subscribe doesn't work
Nevermind, its http://forums.evga.com/Listing.aspx?searchfor=subscribe now.

I can't believe I'm only one having this issue - BUT - I'll post it

*Mind you I tested this out on 3 different computers, using any combination of IE, Firefox and google Chrome **

When clicking any 'Forum Hot topics'  link from the  http://www.evga.com/community/ page
-> I just get directed to the main forums page  http://forums.evga.com/  at least 90% of the time... it hardly ever links me to the actual post I'm trying to go to .

&  also the same thing when clicking on link under http://www.evga.com/myevga/  posts that I have made, .-> it just goes directly to http://forums.evga.com/  main again

I noticed today that the word wrap isnt working right.  In my post below, the word discretion does not have a space in it that justify wrapping half the word down like this.

Anyone besides me notice that most of the time the past couple days that when trying to go back out of say a thread, you need to hit the back button twice?  It happens maybe 75% of the time.  IE11 here with Win7.

Also, the past couple days, I haven't been able to bring up a 2nd browser from EVGA without a server error.  In the past if I was typing a response to somebody and needed to go find a link to a different thread or product, I would open another browser page, find the link, and could then go back to where I was typing my response.  Past couple days, every time I try this, I get a server error or the "This page cannot be displayed" message.

I am having no problems like that with Firefox. I am always referencing my Bookmarks and opening a link in a new tab to post in a response here.

Please note that there might be a bug in the way URLs are handled. For example, if I place the URL within the brackets (https://encrypted.google.com/) the URL that is actually used is https://encrypted.google.com/) The ending bracket is also included in the URL. I expected that the brackets weren't included in the URL. This issue was noticed in this post and continues -> http://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2085297

I am using Cyberfox 26.0.0 (64-bit variant of Firefox 26.0.0) and have verified the issue in Firefox Aurora 28.0a2 (2013-12-28).

I just noticed the same thing.... I just bought 2 770 classi's, surely that gave you enough $ to buy the full version and not a trial one....

It is probably a glitch and the EVGA HQ staff does not come back to the office till Monday.  As long as the forums are functioning, I can care less who it says its "powered by".

FYI - We just have to fix our license within our system (we have valid licenses, never fear).  This should be fixed by Monday.

Thanks,

Just wanted to chime in that the forum isn't very Chrome friendly. Been having issues with my PMs not showing and not being able to reply to posts or logout. Seems like the log in and log out credentials is messed up maybe. Going to delete my Chrome cache and see if it helps.

Why are there so many yellow 'Error' banners for icons? Is this by choice or are these members oblivious to their missing icons?

I've seen posts with attachments and one shows an error banner and the other photo is fine. I come back a half-hour later and the other pic is an error and the first error is now a pic. Will someone make up my mind?

Re: New Forum Issues 2014/01/16 10:57:06 (permalink)
This is not so much an issue, as it is a complaint:
I do not like the "new look" of the EVGA forums. Yes, I have tried all 3 skins.
Particularly, it is the absence of the OP date on the thread list that I object to.
It used to be we could look at a forum and instantly tell whether or not a thread issue was a new issue, or a reply to an old issue.
(Sometimes this is fast, other times not so fast - or the server doesn't respond.)
Now if there are any replies we have to click on (open) the thread in order to find out - if we aren't constantly watching the particular forum.

Sure, I am only a former EVGA user, but I still sometimes hang around these forums to try to lend advice to a few ppl that are asking for help. This problem tends to reduce my willingness to do so. As far as I know, looking at a thread labelled: "Is X58 SLI3 compatible with..." it could be hours old, or a thread started two years ago, that someone dug up. I want to be able to see what issues are only a few days old at a glance (without searching), and I can't do that now - so I don't like the "new look" of the EVGA forums, and may not lend help as often as I would otherwise. FYI.

A forum problem I think I found regarding editing and links 2014/01/17 19:00:58 (permalink)

If I use a long link like http://www.amazon.com/s/r...92&rnid=5462158011
The forum will shorten it, but the link will still work
However if I edit my post, it'll no longer see the original link, and try to follow the shortened version it created as a full address.

I think that's ppl that are offline. Now you have two avatars, an online one and an offline one.

Forum Issue 2014/01/21 17:41:20 (permalink)
I have a problem that started about 2 weeks ago. The computer at my place of employment is using Firefox and for some reason I can no longer access the forums like I was able too up to that point in time. What happens now is that I can get to the forum main page and then a few seconds later it loads the advertisement and it will not proceed further. The advertisement is the only thing on the screen. If I am fast enough I can get to one of the forum sections (general, games etc.) and then I can surf through the topics in that section with no problems. If I go back to the forum main page then the problems start again. As I said earlier, this never happened before. I also cleared the cookies and it still does it. This is also the only site that does it and no settings have been changed.

Hi,

Can you please provide me with screenshots of the issue?  I have not had any other complaints regarding anything like this.  Please send details and screenshots of the issue to me at rbaca@evga.com so I can try to recreate and resolve.

Thanks,
Rob
