So i am in the market for a new cpu cooler that will be better than my standard cooling fan and heatsink.  My main question is, with all the new cpu cooling fans/heatsink otpions, it seems like they are getting bigger and heavier in size.  Does anyone have an opinion of thinking that a product like the V10 coolmaster from this website http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/product.php?product_id=2880&product_name=V10 would seem like it would crack the motherboard because of its size and weight?

The Coolermaster V10 is a subpar peltier cooler and if I'm not mistaken, not in production. The coolermaster V6 is probably their best offering. If you're worried about weight, a all in one watercooler like the Corsair H60 or the Antec Kuhler 920 are nice options.

Someone on here is selling a V6 in the box for like $30 or so. If you're interested, I can find it, and give you the sellers username, so you can PM him.

Beware that the CM V6 has lots of compatibility issues with high end motherboards.  Their Hyper 612 PWM seems to be their best offering - I haven't read about compatibility issues so it isn't a big problem for it, and the TPC-812 costs more for no reason.

There are lots of water cooling guides on the forum that will help you.  Reading at least one is an absolute necessity, since custom or "real" water cooling is not just something you buy and install.

If you're more interested in all-in one, self contained water cooling kits that don't require maintenance, go for one of these.  Note that they only perform on par with the best air coolers.

For air, from my experience best bang for the buck is the Hyper 212, its cheap and works.
Water AIO's are also a great option for cooling.
As for a loop, there are a LOT of guides as Bored stated, I can help you set one up, as I have for MANY people in these forums.  Water is NOT CHEAP, period.  There are some descent starter kits like the Rasa, but they are just that, a good starting point.
In the end before we could advise better, we would need to know exactly what you have, what your goal is and your budget.

Not in production currently, correct. However I had a lot of fun with mine, enough that I got another a while back for $40.

For weight concerns, go to water cooling, whether all in one or full custom is up to your wallet.

My spending limit is roughly less than $200.  I have a ASUS P8Z68/GEN-3 motherboard supporting the core i7 Intel LG 1155 socket.  I also have it secured in a full tower case (Thermaltake Element V Black Edition)  It already has 2 prepunched holes in the rear of the desktop for water cooling.  And supplies 2 fan openings on top if i do a double fan water cooling setup.

You could go with a RASA kit, and that would be about as much as you could do with that price range.  Maybe a H100 and upgrade the fans.
How hard are you planning to clock, and what apps do you run?

Well you could definitely do water cooling for around $200. Here's what an excellent starter loop would be.

You'd need to pick a tube color and type, but add 6-8 feet of it.
Coolant: Gallon of distilled water at your local grocer, should be ~$2. You'll also want a funnel, you can get them pretty much anywhere local for a couple of dollars.

Total cost comes out to: $215 for all of the above plus shipping and tubing. (Price includes water and a funnel)

You can get some really nice but cheap tubing here: http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/dupvctu1idx3.html and if you want higher end tubing or a certain color, I would really recommend Primochill, I've been very happy with theirs.

Not to mention, this setup would punish any other cooler that you can buy, and you get the added expandability. It's slightly over your $200 mark, but could be brought down. For example, you wouldn't need the reservoir to get rolling, you could add that in later.

I am thinking about leaning towards a better CPU heatsink rather than water cooling it.  There are just so many people who have problems where either something leaks or doesnt work at all.  I dont want to take the chances of that happeneing.  So unless someone can lean me towards getting water cooling, i am looking at the Thermaltake FRIO http://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Overclocking-Universal-Cooler-CLP0564/dp/B003DW0GO2/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1344742539&sr=1-1&keywords=frio+cooler

I've been watercooling for 3 years,  never had a leak or something not work. But that's just me. If you want to air cool it, then go for it.

If you are worried about leaks and such I would just go for a H100 or a H80 to get very good cooling performance without the normal risk of water cooling.

    Halo,
excellent loop there for the money.  You did forget fans unless I am blind.  Although that rad can run pretty much any fan and be fine.  I think after fans, tax, shipping, fans, etc even if you swap out the res for a T to fill with, I think you will be out the door for about 250 total.  By far the best bang for the buck loop I have seen in a while.

If i want to go with a fan setup for the cpu, i have looked at some of the Frio's from thermaltake but it seems like they would be too big for my motherboard somehow.  I ahve the ASUS P8Z68/V-Gen3 with the LGA 115 socket.  It would seem if i went with the thermaltake FRIO OCK, it would hit my Ram cards and my heatsink rails.  Anyone prefer a cpu fan i can use on my motherboard.

You should be fine with a FRIO. If not, check out some of the Prolimatech options or Thermalright. Those are both better brands than ThermalTake anyways.

It is just the stock samsung 4gb sticks.  i had them from my old system that i purchased a few months ago.  The only way i would be able to use a FRIO so that is fits is to use only one fan.  Im kinda dissapointed that most of the fan setups will not work.  I even have a ATX mobo, you think there should be plenty of room.

Oh, I gotcha. Most coolers are vertically tall so that they shouldn't have issues with those sinks or the RAM, so most coolers should fit.
