I just built a new cruncher/folder pc and I am running Ubuntu Mate 16.04 LTS.
I want to have a display indicating the cpu frequency as I am going to overclock the CPU.
On my windows machines I use CPUID.
I can see the temps on my linux box no problem, but I need an app to display the CPU speed.
Any help would be great!

ps. If I posted this in the wrong section- Could a admin/moderator move it to the right place?
Thanks,
robbysites

Thanks JTgrant - I want to give linux a shot and so far everything is pretty easy. I am using the Gui and I can fold and crunch pretty much every project, but I want to be able to see where I am at on CPU speed.

    Thanks for the help!

I found the perfect program for the linux version I am using.
    It is called I-NEX

Of all the years I have been using linux I never knew the speed of my Intel CPUs.
With AMD there is a way to bring that up, did not work with Intel.
Knew my temps and fan speed though.

There is Psensor, and i7m or something like that.
    I can't remember i7z 7z iz zz zztop

    Should have posted that.

I have a new build and it has the I7 6700 with a base clock of 3.4 Ghz I overclocked it but wanted to see the frequency - I found I-NEX to work perfect. So I am running at 3.8Ghz on air with an extremely large Noctura CPU fan.

    Here is a download site for the program. It works on linux like CPUID for windows, and was written to work with intel chips;

    https://sourceforge.net/projects/i-nex/

Bill that was one cool move to go from I7 to ZZ top
