I've been sent out of town for work more and more and I'm tired of not being able to play games, stuck in a lousy hotel. So...

I have a Gtx 980 TI and a 1000 watt EVGA psu still in the original packaging.
I know I want to run the X99 micro 2. This is why this question belongs here.
I love the look of the Hydron, but having to use a 500 watt psu with an OC and a GTX980 Ti, I question if it will be enough.

As such I'm looking for a recommendation for a case that will work for traveling that can use my 980 TI, a 1000 watt evga psu and a EVGA micro 2 mother board.

Essentially, I'm trying to make a steam machine that actually rocks.

For a single card, you should be good.  Just don't go OCing it to the extreme.  Plus, OCing is only good for benchmarks really while for gaming, you only gain a few FPS at the most.

I was looking at a 4.0-4.2 OC. My current machine, which I'm used to, is running a 24/7 4.0 OC on an I7-970 (The original hex core). I just don't want to build a machine with less power than I'm used to.

Wouldn't a gaming laptop be ideal for you? Having to lug around a tower. monitor, keyboard and mouse seems like a lot of hassle. I picked up a new Sager NP8173-S. Very nice laptop with GTX 1070. Has a beautiful 17" IPS g-sync monitor, 1080p still but I find 1440p+ too small for my tastes on that size of a screen.
