New driver, great - sadly, NVidia still not found the cause for the 144 Hz flickering issues : https://forums.geforce.co.../post/4976832/#4976832

The fix in the mean time is to just right click desktop/display properties/advanced properties and just select a different monitor resolution and hit apply. When the pop up comes asking if house want to keep this new res hit no! That way your desktop icons don't get scattered all over the place. Then it will revert back to your current resolution and 144-164hz refresh rate.

It's just a pain to do this everytime you first boot the system. I had to figure all that out for myself.

Yeah I know there are workarounds, yours or setting the refresh rate to 120Hz and then back to 144Hz. But I settled with 120Hz until I get the fix, I'm too lazy to mess with settings every time I boot. It will also be interesting if I notice a difference when I finally can play with 144Hz again :> Between 60 and 120/144 I see it like day and night, but never tried 120 vs 144 ^^ I don't feel uncomfortable with 120 right now, like I did when I accidentally had 60 after reinstalling Windows.

Ohhh and I would love to have this G-Sync 1440p panel you have, unfortunately it is out of my budget after the heavy upgrade (well, it's a completely new PC) I did xD

Its only 144hz issue then ? so if you have 165hz screen then your fine ?

I think it's an issue for everything at or above 144Hz. AHowes has it on his 165Hz-screen.

Oh, and just to list all workarounds : Downgrading the driver to a version below 372 is (for most people) also a way to prevent the issue from happening. Many recommend the 369.09 that you can get by using Windows Update. The newest not affected version from the Nvidia Website would be 368.81.

I am currently running 372.70 and I have the monitor in my signature and I don't have any flickering at either 144 or 165. I do have a second 60 hz screen attached to the computer as well so I don't know if that helps fix the flickering issue.
Either way the older 368 driver is the only one I can run if I want to play rise of the tomb raider. With the 372 drivers the game just freezes for seconds at a time or until I alt tab it, it's unplayable that way. I saw that this new driver has a fix for that game so hopefully it will take care of it.

I'm also running a second 60Hz-screen and still have the issues - doesn't seem to be correlated to that. It occurs for some high refresh rate users, even with the same monitors, drivers & OS and for some not. Even Nvidia doesn't know why :>

I use this program called DesktopOK. It allows you to save your icon config and reload it if anything happens to change your layout. Very useful as it's very lightweight and simple.

Yeah this driver so far is pretty good for me.  As mentioned above it works well for Witcher 3.  It also performs much better in Rise of the Tomb Raider than any of the other 372 drivers did which caused the game to crash at the main menu already and had lots of unbearable freezes while playing the game.  There is still one section in the Geothermal Valley where GPU usage drops along with framerates.  In the other 372 drivers, my fps would drop to around 11 to 22 fps, not it only drops down to 55 to 60.  Not sure why it does it in this particular area.  As long as the rest of the game is fine, then I guess I don't really care, at least they're making progress.  With all settings maxed out except using FXAA instead of the highest setting I get 148 fps in the build in benchmark at 1440p compared to 141 before.

New driver, great - sadly, NVidia still not found the cause for the 144 Hz flickering issues : https://forums.geforce.co.../post/4976832/#4976832

My 144hz BenQ has no such flickering issues. What brand is your panel?

Let me quote myself :

It occurs for some high refresh rate users, even with the same monitors, drivers & OS and for some not. Even Nvidia doesn't know why :>

Although it doesn't really matter, I use the Asus VG248QE (and there is at least one user in the EVGA forums with the same monitor and without any issues).

At the Nvidia forums there are tons of people with Benq XL24**-monitors with these issues. On the few pages I looked I only found XL2420T and XL2420Z and other XL24s, but probably there is also someone with yours :>

I run an Asus VG278HE monitor at 144 hz, and have never see the flickering issue so far in any of the driver updates. But< I am knocking on wood at the same time lol.
I am still on 372.70 though, have not updated to these latest yet.

Thinking about getting Acer Predator XB271HU TN because i game a lot and for faster refresh rates.

Does the "Optimal experience for Forza Horizon 3" give us an SLI profile?

If it helps, we've found several customers were able to fix the 144Hz flickering issue by changing Power Management Mode to Prefer Maximum Performance; for some reason Optimum seems to cause flickering.

Are these drivers so bad they don't get a sticky? I've been enjoying them since their first day.

Wow, I haven't come across any BenQ related flickering issues, I read Nvidia forums pretty thoroughly, are you sure they were BenQ XL2420TE's?, I have come across lots of issues with the flickering of Asus 144hz panels, but not BenQ 144hz panels. On first driver release I think we(144hz) panel gamers all had the flicker, but after 368.95 hotfix driver, this issue has been fixed.
