After further play in BC2 MP, it appears that they did in fact fix the stutter. But, now there is a stutter created whenever the frame rate drops into the 30s from the 70s or 80s. Very annoying. This type of frame dip never happened before.

individual starcraft 2 profile doesn't work
i put on AA nothing happens
infact it doesn't even detect my sc2 application, i gotta manually add it

seems nvidia added a profile for starcraft 2.exe, but its actually called SC2.exe.

I gave up on SLI awhile back, I found that for alot of games they would have the wrong .exe in the profiles.  I was going through correcting half the installed games I had because of this.

Installed this driver this morning. Vantage benchmark went up almost 1k with this driver compared to the 258.96. Playing METRO 2033 seems smoother also. Very happy with everything so far but I did have to uninstall the Audio driver and reinstall the 2.41 Realtek.

I have my rig hooked up to my Home Theater equipment and with the audio driver that was installed along with everything else it didn't give me an option to use my receiver as a default in nVidia CP.

Other than that minor issue I am very happy with it so far!

If you are using the steam version delete the PHYSX stuff and reverify the cache
steam corrupted the physx on the first install

Just in case it helps others. I have a 460 gtx and I noticed lower framerates with the new driver and Starcraft 2. The global setting by default had multiple monitor performance selected (or something similiar). I changed this to single monitor and it increased my fps back to around what I had. Im not sure if its my setup or what caused this but maybe give it a try if things seem slower.

Anyone here getting issues with MSI afterburner and EVGA Precision with Fan Speed issues?

What happens for me is that when I open the application or when I set the fan speed or sometimes on startup of Windows.... the fan speeds drops to a different level.

If I press the Auto Fan Button off and then back on a few times on both of these applications. I can usually get it to stay the speed I want. Sometimes not.

I have tried all the Driver trouble shooting techniques on my side. But sill the problem still is there.

Is anyone else having fan control issues with these drivers? Especailly on GTX 460's it seems.

Are you running both at the same time or, any other application concurrently that monitors or can adjust the fan speed?

I am running both GTX 460's with the Same fan speed. 85% I use MSI Afterburner for this. I completely reinstalled the Drivers (After being whiped clean with Driver sweeper and manually) Also before this I re flashed with the latest FPB BIOS. Then after all of that... I already had uninstall-ed MSI afterburner and EVGA Precision. Then I reinstalled only MSI Afterburner.

So MSI Afterburner is the only FAN controlling software on my computer right now.

Any other thoughts?

thing is, that option is only for OpenGL, and Starcraft uses D3D.

Before I try posting on the Official Nvidia beta thread can anyone shead some ligh on this:
Using Vista 64 -SLI two GTX 460  with 3D Vision setup.

NVIDIA Control panel
Set SLI configurations tab:
Monitor name box:

before:
--------
ASUS
VG236
-------
After install
--------------
Ancor
Communica
tions Inc A...
--------------
The ASUS VG236h 120 Hz monitor uses the standard default Microsoft PnP generic driver.
They do not include a monitor driver or color data base files.
This is the only ASUS item on my system.
The pci id of 0x1222 is registered to Ancor Communications Inc
no idea if this is an  ASUS company or where the ANCOR string pointer is comming from.
In the NVIDIA Control panel for "set up multiply displays" the box is bigger and the whold text is shown as :
Ancor Communications Inc ASUS VG236

I haven't seen a post about this yet in this thread, sorry if it was already posted though.

Core clock doesn't seem to downclock anymore using only one monitor. It will downclock when the monitor is turned off though. So right now, using only one monitor, i get idle temperatures of 80C with core clock at 405mhz while i was getting ~48C at 51mhz with 258.** drivers.

Anybody else noticed it ?

I know it's beta but just wondering if i'm the only one with this problem.

trepoo

I agree. It was 196.75 WHQL which had the fan problem. My Asus Glaciator 8800 GT died because of it.

No, mine works great with one monitor and core clock is right now 51/101Mhz when surfing at web. It's still the same like before with 258.96, nothing changed.

Just installed these and they are AWESOME. I managed to get the AA going in Starcraft 2, however at 32xAA it cuts me down by around 40FPS, lol. BFBC2 really seems to be improved in term of smoothness. So far its good !

I do notice many feedbacks in other overclock forums these beta drivers are a known issue for SLi users. and they are currently working on it especially for the bfbc 2 players who use sli. I wonder if these new beta drivers will solve the annoying flickering i see from time to time in Star Trek Online. For now i'm not so sure if these beta drivers are worth it but i may try them this weekend and see how it goes. Especially with Just Cause 2 benchmarks and Crysis. May see just probably a 2 to 3 fps difference but perhaps this driver will solve known issues we gtx 400 series owners have. I never NEVER had any stutters and i think those stutters are sli owners. I'm still unsure if i should get another gtx 460 if i hear these stutters are not solved yet. But likely they will be fixed by the holidays or earlier and it'll be a great reason to upgrade :D

Sorry off point but does anyone know what is the max and least average safest overclock for gtx 460 SC edition? I'm too used to the old precision and the nbrs look different rofl.

LOL.. are these drivers really that good? I heard it actually cleans the left over drivers better than your average driver sweeper? Does that really do the job? I really am glad they came up with that. No more driver sweep anymore :D

I'm seeing stuttering and artifacts while playing gta 4 that were not present with the whql driver.  I'm probably going to roll back to the previous driver.

I just played a few hours of Star Wars The Force Unleashed (Nerd I know) anyway a couple times during game play the game just stopped and I went right to my desktop. Windows informed me that the game stopped and was looking to solve the problem. No Sh*%... I just started it right back up and it would be fine. It happened twice in about 2 hours so I'm not sure if it's a driver issue or not because SW Unleashed is known for issues to begin with.

The performance increase is to good to go back to the 258.96 driver so I will just live with it till they come out with the WHQL. Unless I start having some big issues. I haven't had any problems like that with any other games I play either but I haven't put the time into them yet with this beta driver.
