This game needs like 4x as many enemies on screen than there are.

Hmm interesting... Shadow Warrior 2? Looks pretty good. I didn't even know there was going to be a sequel. I'm not quite up to the times, apparently.

Did you ever play original doom? The enemy counts don't ramp up til the later levels, these were stated to be earlier levels.

Very true, but by mid game, omg, like grab the rad suit in the green crap on "The Suburbs" in Doom2, and watch the WALL of Mancubus's, Imps and Caco's come teleport in for the next 2 minutes.

And yes, SW2 looks cool, I really liked the last one, I think that was a really worthy successor to the old W95/W98 game.

Anyway, gonna watch this when I get home tonight, thanks for posting.p

The developer is small and it they don't have a marketing budget which is why you don't hear about it. Hard Reset was another great shooter from them.

Just a quick reference note, John Carmack had nothing to do with the making of this new Doom release. Just in case anyone didn't know. And, in case anyone doesn't know, John Carmack was one of the original founders of ID Software, which brought the original Doom to life.

I just got my pre-purchase preload activation key this morning. I am downloading now. It is taking a long, long time. I still have over an hour to go and I've been at it since 9:30 this morning.

I've already sucked up 35 GB of drive space and have 20 minutes to go yet. I'm sure after these files are unpacked and installed, that size will only grow.

EDIT: Total download size is 40 GB. I can't install yet. I think it gets released on the 13th.

I wanted to get it done and out of the way. Download times might be much higher on Friday with everyone else trying to download at the same time.

    Zuh...

You are absolutely correct on that.  I did pre-load, after I thought about it.  When no traffic, my connection downloads around 11 mb/s.  It took about 50 minutes, where on Friday, it might take three times longer.

Yesterday I only got 3.6 Mb/s from Steam. I get as high as 8.6 Mb/s some days. I am starting to wonder if Verizon isn't limiting my data stream at times.
