Good morning everyone. I am attempting my second build. I have the processor left to acquire.

I am getting an MSI Xgaming titanium board, i7 6700k.

My question is, what happens when I replace the board and processor? Do I just reinstall windows via USB as I did my very first build? What happens to my SSD's? I would imagine they would be wiped, reinstall windows 10. Reinstall all my programs and so forth.

Am I correct on this???

When you install windows just have one disk connected, the one you use as your main C: drive. All data on the other disks will stay intact.
I did that with mine and my steam drive was a 2nd drive. I did have to reinstall the games but it went fast since it did not have to download all that data.
You will have to reinstall your programs, so save any and all documents, downloads and pictures if those things are on your C: drive. Yes the C drive will have its data lost, so save what you need to save.

I had read about a way to use the same drive and os, just hook it up as though it is the same board but do a windows repair.
Never tried it my self, I just do a clean install

I always like doing a clean install of windows when switching motherboards. You should be able to install windows using Win10 USB boot drive.

+1 This what i sould do also. Please keep in mind to have a stable/smooth sailing system, imo,  it is required, most of the time, to clean install windows.

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags!
The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. When you abuse it, it reverses on you and it hurts you.The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.
