Motherboard has a power problem. Gotta send it in for warranty work. Problem: Flip power switch on psu, on-board power button lights up for a split second then goes out. Turning psu on and off with switch causes the same symptoms over and over again. Same occurs with my backup psu.

My first X99FTW had a very similar problem when I got it. Sorry to hear your having problems. I've been lucky to this point, hopefully it stays that way.

Buy a second board . Then when the one goes bad, you have a backup. Zero down time.

You might have a residual power build up on the board. Un-plug power supply from the PC then depress power button for 10 seconds. That will discharge any residual power build-up.

You should have got an Evga X99 Classy like I did. I would stay away from that Gigabyte board.

It's the same board I told him he shouldn't have even before he was a Mod. This is just a repeat of what I said a while back to him. :P

When I was doing all my research into X99 boards, Gigabyte was pretty much getting hammered. That's kind of a surprise because usually Gigabyte is known for being pretty good. Hope you get it sorted. I know how annoying and frustrating it can be dealing with that kind of stuff.

So I ended up swapping in another board. New board worked for about an hour. Shutdown the computer and flipped the switch on the psu to kill the power totally. Went out to eat. Came back and flipped the psu switch on and the board started doing the exact same thing the old board did. Starting to think the psu fried both my boards. Have a third board coming. Won't be using the 1600w T2 on it.

Got new board put in today along with my Seasonic Platinum 1200W. Computer has been running fine for about an hour. Shut the computer down and flipped the switch on the psu to kill the power totally. Waited 5 minutes then flipped the switch on the psu to the on position. Computer fired right up without any issues. Looks like my 1600w T2 was the cause of my other two board failures.

True. 1600w T2 was only a year and 4 months old.

RMA the old t2? Hopefully you get everything up and running. I bought a $60 cpu and $80 motherboard to test parts with, so I can verify I am not losing my mind, lol. Cheap to replace if something gets fried
