Keep it simple, 410 cubic inches, full cage, built auto, and a Ford 9". It will never be pretty but she can be fast.

Plan is 2x3 frame so i can get A arms or struts up front, 350 cube carbed LS engine, th400, 14 point cage, ford 9", and possibly a very small shot of nitrous. lol

i want 8.90's or better on pump gas. with a curb weight of 2000lbs if i can get it to 750hp and 2600lb race weight, its easily doable.

This should be an interesting project.  Providing it proves successful, let's see a snazzy upgrade for a Pinto on your next one.

That short wheelbase combined with a lot of power will prove for an........um......eventful ride lol.  You will constantly be fighting the rear end wanting to pass the front......fun stuff.

    Yes, and fast hands!

I once drove a Miata with a 302 from a Mustang in it.....I still laugh at how insanely fun that car was for the short 10 or so minutes I spent behind, the wheel.

its gonna take a while to build it but it should be fun when done. plan is a 3x2 rear frame along the lines of this, with a welded A arm front clip to make the frame.

SO your going to " back-half" the car. That's a beautiful set up....Love the narrowed rear. It is so skinny, axle will be short. I was wondering if your were going to do something like that to the front. Who is that set up made by, Art Morrison? Going to be a beast, wish I lived near you to check it out.

Thats a art morrison 4 link. i really would rather ladder bar. thats a nice kit but kinda spendy. $3150 as pictured plus shipping which is around $400. im looking around as im not going to order the kit just yet. over the winter ill strip and prep the car then work on the frame in the spring. That 4 link setup is really well setup and there is alot of things i like about it. will have to see what funds look like.

This is the front end i really want. Chris Alstons chassis works. $2319 minus the brakes plus shipping..... shipping sucks

Strip the car first, Remove everything that's not needed for an even lighter car... LOL.

I'm in the process of purchasing a 1998 Mustang Cobra for a new project car too. =P

I can't decide whether I'm going to do an LS swap or a 2JZ swap..

Either way a disgrace to the Mustang, but I love it!

You want a mustang to swap get a fox body. Way lighter. Fox body with a big block chevy in it is a killer setup. I would do a ls swap before a 2jz. Just for ease of the install.

I got a new enclosed trailer, screw shipping it. Road trip! I might even have my toy hauler by spring and can just camp and drive the whole thing.
