This car is too nice to be doing illegal stuff in it, other than regular speeding.. No more burnouts or takeovers (Maybe burnouts with the new lock line thing, But no donuts) Burnouts will be rare though, Just for the IG video =P

Fa Sho!!! I still have not driven one of those yet. You now encourage me to go to my local dealership again and test drive their cars like I always do. But they are getting tired of seeing me test driving their cars and not buying anything LOL.

Nah, it's just telling you to change the oil already to get out the tiny metal shavings from the engine breaking in.

First Congrats! Second... Are you kidding me! Good lord I hope it is something simple. You are taking it easy correct? Never hit the peddle to the metal in the first 500... I wonder if it is a basic sensor (Bad read) or needs oil? Yes I know all the new tech/tolerances... But I "Smoke" my buddies 14 GT. His is Blue, mine is Red... He went to the strip the day after he bought it. I went 1042 miles before I put my foot all the way into it. Now my car beats his like clockwork by one to two car lengths... His "Sounds" loose under the hood and mine purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrz...

There really is no "break in period" for a naturally aspirated engine these days ;)

Use the line lock, lose the warranty and get a free check engine light. Ford mentioned that but kept it quiet for the most part.

Nah, the only thing you're really breaking in is the clutch and even then some clutches such as the LS7 kit offered by GM direct you do not even need to break in. You can literally beat the piss out of it driving it off of the dealership, if it's going to blow up in the first 500 miles, it wasn't built right from the get go lol

Check engine light disappeared, some one on the svtperformance forum said it could be the sensor, so I guess when I turned it off for an hour, it began working fine again I've been giving friends demos, couple of hard pulls, but other than that gonna take it easy... 750 miles and then I take it to the track. stock before tuning it for performance Edit: AB I just saw you mentioned that too =P 👌👍

The light turned off, but there should still be a DTC stored in the keep alive memory. You'd be best off to take it in and get it checked just in case. Most problems with check engine lights and other warning lights at low miles is usually due to a connector not being fully seated, or a pushed out pin in a connector. Sometimes you find mis-routed harnesses or pinched harnesses but not very often. Also congrats on the new car. I still haven't driven a new 5.0, but I have driven several of the 4cyl turbo cars and they're fun to drive. Can't wait to see what tuners do with them.

Thats to early to take it to the track! I suggest you wait at least 2000 miles to trulely break in your engine for that precision wear down. Yes I know people say all you need is at least 500 miles to break in the motor. But its not like you have a Toyota Corolla engine. Lets not forget the other components you have to break in as well. Sajin is right about the metal flakes as to why the engine light is on. Generally with performance engines the break in period has more of a "rough process" of settling in. Catch my drift? By the way what package deal did you get with the GT? Do you have the fully loaded model with the performance package?

Did you get any kind of trade in for your "old" Mustang? Or was all that for nothing? Hope you didn't get hosed, but that's usually how it works. You would be wise to change the oil early ,to get the engine break-in particle out of your oil. And take it easy like it has been suggested.

I requested some of my aftermarket stuff back, They hesitated at first, But I told them I wasn't going to buy the car if I didn't get my parts back... Resell value of the parts I'm getting back totals from $4,000-$5,000. Trust me, The trade was whack, But there was nothing I could do that would favor me and still get a V8. Yeah, I'll go in for the oil change, How soon do you think? I gave a couple of demos, But apart from that, Have been just cruising at speed limit conserving gas... 8.5MPG-9MPG isn't too much fun lol.
