Which TIM are you going to use? Also, what is that 10 year warranty on the box? Isn't it lifetime?

Always IC Diamond Carat.

Here in Europe, its 2+8 years. I think thats enough lifetime for any computer part .

Didn't know you were in Europe. Hopefully Shane puts back the Location under our Avatars soon. I never tried IC Diamond. I may try that when I get the 580. Anyways, I'm sure you will enjoy that card.    :)

Oh, now I noticed also that no more locations.
I have used IC Diamond on CPU´s and its amazing stuff. Now first time adding to GPU also.

Yes. I enjoy this card

I've only changed the paste on my CPU's. Always used OCZ Freeze. Never changed a GPU paste yet, but will start with the 580. Even if the IC Diamond helps by 2 degrees, then I guess it's still worth using that paste.

NOTE: I will be offline from 11/21/16 to 12/15/16. If you have a problem please PM another Mod, as I won't be available to answer you back. Thanks.

Every Celcius drop is good, and when you can prove that the paste did it, thats great then.

I did a TIM replacemante, and not 100% satisfied.

yesterday idle 35C 40% fans
today idle 33-34C 42% fans

and on the testruns, I got temps down, but fan was higher.

example CPU@3900,  GTX 580 875 MHz, 4400 Mem
yesterday / after TIM today
max temp 79C / 69C
max fan   59% / 69 %
max rpm 2250 / 2910

I think, I need to do it again. It was easy by the way to open case and take off the cooler.

lol, looks like you were hit as hard by the amd bottleneck as i was.

but with your before and after tim, its hard to compare since theyre not at the same fan speeds though. would be interesting to see a comparison at the same fan speeds.

Souai.. Im not talking about same fanspeed, Im just talking logic. 35C --> 33C, IF the TIM was made well, the fanspeed should stay same.
Likewise, lets say 79C ---> 75C, IF the TIM was made well then fanspeed should atleast stay same or same temps with lower fanspeed.

Well, Im bit hurry, need to go to Helsinki Icehall to see hockey, so maybe doing it today one more time. Atleast then see, did I put right amount there. First time I just drop the ball middle of it, like Falcon showed in his video, but this time Im going to spread it myself. Thats how I always done with CPU. so every part of the GPU square area is covered.

No. Im in Europe, so over here is 2 + 8 years. Have to register the production in 30 days, so then its 10 years. So I think thats pretty much almost a lifetime for any comp parts. I think not going to use it in 10 years, and not making big money selling this at 2020

remember to disable the onboard hd sound device:
http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=586183

Why disable it?  HDMI allows the best sound not possible by any other type of cable.  I
use it connected to my receiver for 8 channel lossless sound and it works better than anything.

The only other way is a ~$200 sound card, but that's useless since the GTX 4/5xx can do it perfectly already for free!

if your going to use the hdmi then disable then onboard audio not the hd audio on the card..
also, are you using the reciever as a pass thorugh to a TV?

No, I send my sound to my receiver via HDMI and it plays on my sound system.

Also, I leave my on-board audio enabled because I use that for alternate audio sources.  For example, I can plug my headphones into the on-board so when I am in voice chat (like teamspeak), I can get the voices to come out of my headphoens and the sounds from the game to come out my speakers from the HDMI at the same time.

Having multiple audio output or input devices can be very useful.

in your before and after, your 'after' had a higher fan speed. so we cant tell if the lower temp is pure tim or as a direct result of the fanspeed, hence i said you should set the fanspeed the same. manually force it to run at the same fan speed for the same load to compare temps, as thats the most accurate way to measure temp improvements and thermal efficiency.

I figure it out, and everything is back in business.
I dont know why, Im 100% sure that I didnt click anything on Afterburner, but somehow there was some kind of a fanprofile on. So I disable it, and just made a new run 80C with 60% fan.... but this time, case totally closed and no windows open to get any cold winter air in.
I Love it. This card is simply amazing.

Yeah its working very well, im damn happy with this card. And most of all, after 8 months with radeons, I can still only wonder how different and better the picture quality is now.

hmm, i had a radeon 5850x2 setup for about 11 months, and a 5770x2 setup for 2 months before that. if you configure the settings for both nvidia and amd correctly, the picture quality is pretty much the same. amd's image quality is just a little crappy at the default setting as by default, its set to performance mode.

the only difference ive noticed is that the nvidia cards are brighter by default and that there is notably less microstutter with one gpu.

but yeah, these cards are amazing, they play pretty much anything way above 60fps aside from crysis and metro.

Congrats! And holy cow, those are some nice OC numbers. Is that stock cooling keeping those temps so low too? What's the ambient temp in the room?

Catawalks...yes its stock cooling..... but.... look at the weather, maybe you get a little hint

EDIT: but with extra voltage, and lots of fan, this card is monster. Ofcourse you dont need those figures in normal gaming, so my fan profile is making max 65-67% which is still decent for my ears, and temps are very low then.

Heh, this is seem to be the final, but I dont complain ...but so close to 30k

Voltage 1.138
AMD Phenom II x4 @ 3913MHz
GPU: 942 MHz

I was trying CPU to 4000, but it crashed. Maybe Ican get higher GPU clocks if drop the memories a bit. Any Ideas? cos I just wish to break that 30.000 with this set up.

Otherwise, all I can say, this card kicks ass... even without turbobutton . Some may know what I mean :D

WOW, thats cool. Marcus earned that... thou I think these days, retiring numbers comes way too soon. Maybe waiting a few years more.

Yeah, I Love this card... all I can say, this is the best card I have seen, for performance, sound and heat.
And yes, my first ever Evga product, and all I can say this community and support here is absolutely fantastic.
