I found an old forum cp profile of my first actual (decent) build.. Thought I would share for a larf.

Cpu: AMD 3400 Newcastle (it worked....nuff said)
Motherboard: Asus K8N-E Deluxe (buggy little so & so. Still got the box in the loft....lol)
Memory: twinx1024-3200c2pro (it had led's)
Video Card: bfg 6800 ultra...tra...tra...tra (I remember having to rob a bank for that beast....lol)
Hard Drive: 2 x 36gb Raptor (10,000rpm baby...yeah)
Optical drive: 2 x Philips 1640's (The staple diet of clone dvd)
Psu: Tagan 480 (Not a lot I remember about these psu's, but I believe they had great reviews at the time)
Case: Some generic thing that looked like an Apple Power Mac G5 Tower (It had mesh holes everywhere.....cool)

Reason for build: Halflife 2 (I miss that crowbar)

    OH WOW.... the motherboard...

I had the K8N4-E. Are you sure it's the K8N-E? I didn't know they had an K8N-E at the time, but they were awesome boards.

I had the same GPU as well.

    Definitely a classic setup.

Yep, part of the Ai series. It was a bit buggy at times but it was a hell of a board

Voodoo2 SLI's, those were the days
I remember fitting a 3dfx Voodoo3 3000 AGP into an early HP pc. Doom never looked so good (lol)

yep I had a voodoo 3 as well, I was a 3dfx man. Kinda bummed they made poor business decisions that caused them to fold. Had a voodoo 5 5500 but ultimately returned it for a eVGA Geforce 2 GTS and have been with evga and NVidia since!

I still remember my first computer that was good and modern and that my parents didnt help me buy.

    Bought Summer 2002

    Athlon XP 1700+
    FIC AZ11EA
    256mb PC133
    Geforce 2 MX400
    20gb Hard Drive
Windows 98SE (from my original computer I got as a gift)
    US Robotics 56.6K
    Linksys 10/100 Lan Card

Was a great computer, worked that summer when I was 15 pouring concrete with a company my dad's friend owned, got paid 7 dollars an hour and worked 10+ hour days for 2.5 Months. Got me a decent computer and made a man out of me lol. It replaced my actual first computer I ever owned.

K6-2 400 (originally my dad had a Pentium 133 in the system)
    ASUS P5A-B
    64mb PC100
Riva 128 (upgraded my video card at some point before I replaced the system, previous was a Texas Instruments 512k Ram ISA Card)
    3gb Hard Drive
SoundBlaster 16 PCI (my first sound card bought it with money earned from cutting grass)
    Windows 98SE
