Note to everyone that has 2 or 3 bios: be careful when switching to your 2nd/3rd mod OC bios because I accidentally left my EVGA Precision X V5.2.6 on OC settings with K-Boost on thinking it will return to stock setting after restart which causes the software to OC over my 2nd bios but I fixed it very quickly so my GPU won't get damaged
PS: also I wish the EVGA Precision X had a disabled OC settings at startup feature so I won't make the same mistake again but I have still be careful next time
I typically just make sure that the "on start" (or whatever it is called) is not selected so that on reboot my OC speeds gets reset to stock. (There is an area on the Precision X UI that has like "on start" written...click this so that the text looks muted (grayed-out)) EDIT: It's called "START UP" and can be found at lower-left corner of the UI (default skin). So to elaborate, I leave this option off (muted) until I find a stable OC then make sure that it is 'enabled' (white text).

Hey so I have the EVGA Geforce GTX 970 FTW GPU as well, and I am thinking about OCing it (Yes I know it is dangerous and will void the warranty - I've OC'd before.) I have a few questions: - Why a modded BIOS? - Does it increase the TDP or Voltage Limits set by EVGA?
Where did you get the modded BIOS from? Found itHow do you utilize the "Quick Switch Dual Bios"? Where is it located on the PCB? (I'm assuming it's a switch?) Found it, but I still don't know how to change it;
My BIOS switch looks exactly like the one on the right in this link:

OCing will not void your eVGA warranty.

OCing will not void your eVGA warranty.
also as long as you restore the gpu to the original bios will not void the warranty

I have 2 eVGA 970 FTWs. And like Airwolf said, you can flash and mod your second BIOS as much as you like as long as you keep your original #1 BIOS at stock in case you mess up the second BIOS. As long as you have 1 BIOS still working, you will still have warranty. Basically, as long as you don't mess up both BIOS to brick your card, and don't cause physical damage to the card, you will still have warranty. You can OC all you want, which is why I love eVGA cards.

I've found the switch to change the BIOS, but how do I use it? I see 2 switches total - which means that there are 4 possible positions. I don't know which position is the second BIOS.

Ok thanks!
Do you happen to know what would happen if I tried to flash while write protection is enabled? I'm guessing just a write error and the system would reboot. Do you have any information on the secondary BIOS? Is it the same as the primary? Thanks! That link helped alot!

I am not sure about what would happen with the write protection, hopefully someone else knows. But to my understanding the only difference with the second BIOS stock is a more aggressive fan curve. They should be the same besides that point. The second BIOS is there in case you want to mod it and put on a custom BIOS someone or you made; that way in case you brick your BIOS with a bad custom one, you still have a functioning card with the 1st BIOS which is why you should always keep the first one stock.
