85 fps in Heaven for an overclocked $660+ card? even my gtx670 can get 82.9 fps on those same settings when overclocked. thats only 2.5% difference plus there are people with higher overclocked gtx670 cards than mine.

Video Memory.. seriously, Vram.

I'd be with you on that one, as the performance gains really are marginal.

But the VRAM issue is very serious. It's severely lacking in all departments. Especially when you start modding games like Skyrim, or GTA 4 for instance. You will cap out vram usage immediately, guaranteed.

4gb should be *standard* for all enthusiast cards right now, in my opinion. Top-end should be around 6 or 8gb. Really.

60% more cost than my card for not even 3% more performance is insane though. and for me the vram would have no impact. if vram was an issue for me then I would just get a gtx670 with 4gb of vram.

I haven't seen an concrete data showing that these 4gb cards are heralding in a new era. I don't see vram being a true issue for another couple years. Keep in mind that just because percision is showing more then 2 gig usage if you aren't getting any additional performance or higher aa/af then it isn't doing anything for you. I don't play on a multi-monitor setup but I do game on a 30in at 2560x1600 and 2gb is just fine.

True, it's still quite expensive. I would have gone with a 670 4GB, but it would have been a downgrade for me, with 480 SLI, and some games are really starting to top out on performance for me.

Try modding something like Skyrim with textures and new models. Really, it's not enough.

Something as old as GTA 4 will give you trouble as well, if you try to add new car models or higher res models. The Vram will cap out, and the game compensates by loading the same vehicle over and over, and if that fails you get texture pop-in. Many, many games lately have been "just cutting it" with vram usage. Max Payne 3, will cap you out, and you'll have trouble applying anymore anti-aliasing at higher resolutions.

It will only get worse, and it's bad enough for me as is.. especially as a modder.

Well GTA 4 isn't the best example since it was a pretty poor port. I do play skyrim with a ton of mods and have never had slowdown or pop-in. (granted i may be over compensating with a 690 and just brow beating the problem with horsepower instead of vram) I will say that in Max Payne 3 there was 1 setting I couldn't use at Max, I think it was 8xMSAA (used 4x), that was the only concession i had to make which I think most would agree at the difference quality wise at that setting is minimal. And the reality is I would love to see what would happen if I could force 16x just to see what the performance hit would be, Rockstar not even letting the user decide is kind of a cop out.

Once again a thread turns into an argument about how people don't "need" 4gb of vram. Let it die. People running high resolutions will utilize more than 2gb. End of story.

Not trying to get off topic but man you guys need to stop whining. 2Gb is enough for the VAST majority of consumers which is who Nvidia will cater to. My GTX 570's have only 1.28Gb of VRAM but I have no trouble playing games at max settings @1920x1080 (except Metro 2033, but come on).

That's a slick looking card, congrats

I am really surprised by your heaven overclock benchmarks.  To me looks like EVBOT is pretty essential to go with a classified over a FTW.

Pics work for me.  So EVBot only works with EVGA motherboards?  The driver issues regarding EVBot and the classy don't sound good, but I'm sure that will be fixed.  Anyway I might just get a FTW 4GB, depending on the temp difference between the two.

I think they're coming (or supposed to) from the factory with the right flash on it for the classy's...

You should be ok if you get a classy and a evbot from eVGA these days...at least I hope so

Edit: As I recall and read it, older evbots need to be flashed before it can be used with the classy....you need an eVGA motherboard to be able to flash the evbot....newer ones are already flashed (or are supposed to be)

It would be great if EVBot had an external connection for the Classified card like they do for the motherboards.

Geebus there are more posts off topic than anything else...

Have patience people, cause as far as I was told or read or speculated, forgot where I heard this, the Classified is really just a glorified FTW 4GB, but has voltage control to boost even higher.   Thats why I'm assuming my scores are pretty much identical until I can change the voltages.

Also please stop with the Lightning or 670s are better in my thread.  There are multiple other discussions of them already, I've read them, I know your opinions and you don't need to keep repeating it here too!

Can't wait to see what kinda increase you get. It will help me decide if I should return my FTW+ 4GB back to evga and buy a Classy.

Couldn't tell ya as I have 18 other fans running in my case that sound like a huge blower fan in unison, if the Classified is making any noise I couldn't hear it!  heh

Well, c'mon do it.....let see what this kickass card can do...i have the capital but I'm not impressed yet....

I can't tell whether you are joking or missed the 2 pages about him being screwed with an unflashed/worthless EVbot and waiting to get it back from EVGA?  He spent a lot of time working to get this stuff up for us.  Please have some respect and patience.  You could always do what he did and get one yourself.

I haven't seen an concrete data showing that these 4gb cards are heralding in a new era. I don't see vram being a true issue for another couple years. Keep in mind I game on a 30in at 2560x1600 and 2gb is just fine.

I run modded skyrim with 2GB and trust me, it doesn't use all 2GB. Not everyone needs 3GB or 4GB. Not everyone runs 3 monitors, or above 1920x1200 rez
