New to this whole Benchmark scene. Don't know where to go to check if my results are any good. Can someone give me any input?

Running a Classified 3, 980x at stock speed, H70 with GT AP15's, 3 Superclock 580 GTX, and a HAF X case, 6gb Tripple Dominator at 1666mhz 7-8-7. All settings were at ultra, on a 27" so I was limited to 2560x1440
Thanks!

Can you try running Heaven bench after a full run of just watching the scenes?  Then post back your scores!

Ok I will do that probably later tonight. Btw. What does you 980x idle at on your watercooler? I'm idling around 11-12C and general gaming will get it up to like 18C. Seems too low to be real?

That is very very cool.  Either you have it in your garage in Alaska or your monitoring program is giving you false readings.  I idle at 31,28,29,25,29,32 @ 4.1 ghz and 1.36875v to the cpu.(24/7 spec not benching spec)  I use Real Temp GT and Eleet for monitoring temps.  For comparison here is my Heaven score with 2 580 HC 2 @ 950/1900/2250 w/1.15v......

whats your CPU temperature under Eleet? Do you use the Core temps or the single CPU termp?

My single CPU temp in Eleet is 13C right now, and the cores are 27-30C.

    Whats the difference?

You're looking at the Tcase temps. Use the core temps. Obviously, you cannot be below your ambient room temp.

fyi: the anisotropy on your latest run was 4x whilst on your first it was 16x; they should really be the same in order to make a comparison ;)

I have 580's sli every setting on max in heaven and getting max 150 fps and 67 fps on the last screen score 1700. I don't think people are realizing how cpu heavy these 580 cards are, if your cpu is under 4 ghz these cards will not breath, guru benchmarked these in sli and they were bottlenecking with a cpu at 3.8!

Your scores seem a bit low. I'd overclock the living crap out of that awesome CPU if I were you

Yeah man OC the hell outta that 980x, that is too expensive and awesome of a processor to be sitting at the stock clocks... with a good OC to around 4 Ghz I think you would see an exceptional boost in performance.. you said you have an H70 as well, so Im sure your temps will be fine with a good OC

Too bad I don't know how to OC. I've tried by reading the guides on these forums but I am so lost each time I try. Like some information on the guide won't match my BIOS so I don't what to change etc. Is overclocking the video cards a lot easier?

Yes, overclocking the video cards is much easier. Download the latest version of MSI afterburner and start oc'ing! Just a matter of adjusting some sliders, going step by step, and testing stability after each step...
More on this can be found on this forum!
Btw, if you'd like, you can always send me your 980X and I'll send you my 920 together with a BIOS template to run it at 4GHz+

As others have already indicated your CPU is the bottleneck of your system, overclocking your cards probably won't yield much (if any) in the way of performance.

Head over to the X58 SLI forum and read the 3step overclocking sticky. Post if something doesn't make sense or differs from your BIOS and we will try and help.
