Great to hear man. Are you overclocking it at all, any results?

I haven't really had the time to mess around with it and really push the card yet but within the next couple days I will. I did mess around with the fan settings though and everything seems to be really good on the dB side of things, I'll definitely post back when I know a little bit more.

What is the max boost clock that you are getting (stock)? Mine is 1379Mhz.

I got mine today, too. Been too busy playing games to mess with in-depth overclocking yet, but I did up the power limit to the max 110% and the max clock I've seen so far is 1492MHz. I'll fuss with it some more to see what I can get either later tonight or tomorrow.

Edit: Just kidding, upped the power to 110% and upped memory clock by 100MHz. Thought I undid that, but I guess I didn't.

When you activate kboost it should lock itself to your max clock, what is it? With every value set to default.

That is extremely high for a SSC. You must be really lucky.

My SSC ACX 2.0 should be here this weekend. Posts like these are making me feel okay with just keeping it instead of going for the MSI or Gigabyte.

How is the noise, temps, and coil whine? With my Corsair 540 case and 4 fans, I doubt I will even hear it.

Honestly fan noise and coil whine isn't bad at all unless you crank it all the way up, Little to if any coil whine really. As for temps, it seems pretty good so far but im gonna have to report back on that I haven't had much time with it yet.

So far it seems +110 on the core is about as far as mine can go. Somehow that translates into peaking at 1504MHz during Valley, with a Valley score average of 4514. I had to do all this with k-boost off, because that pretty instantly crashes the driver. Afterburner shows outrageous numbers on the graph when k-boost is turned on, then just stops measuring anything. So I'm not going to mess with that switch anymore.

    Edit: Valley info
    Ultra
    1920x1080 full screen
    AA off

I guess I should also mention that right after hooking this card up, I dove into some BF4 on the ultra preset (at 1920x1080) and averaged about 110fps. That's a big step up from my 460 at all low-medium barely touching 60fps as long as nothing was exploding (when it would dip very low). And all the time during BF4, I reached 77* max, but that was at all stock settings where it said the target temp was 79*.

During the back to back to back to back (you guys get it) Valley benchmarks, the card sat around 65*, going up to 68* max a couple times. No noticeable noise coming from the card. But I'm also used to the turbine of a 460 that I had in there for the last 3 years.

4519 best in Valley with +110 clock and at 110% power target being the only things adjusted (max observed clock at these settings was 1493MHz). Haven't touched overvoltage yet (but I probably will in order to hit 1500MHz stable, and once I confirm that it won't void my warranty), and I don't see any real world benefit to messing with the memory clock. Completely stock out-of-the-box score was 4339. And with power target 110% and only +100 clock, it managed a 4476.

This setup also got a 12546 graphics score in firestrike with an overall score of 9943(93rd percentile), which is impressive considering I have a modestly overclocked 2500k on a p67 board.

After running these tests later into the night where my computer was the only thing making noise in my room, I can confirm that the ACX 2.0 cooler is LOUD. The fans apparently only ramped up to about 48% during benchmarks, but I seriously thought my case was about to take off and fly out my window. Sitting 2 feet from my tower was like standing behind an F-16 wearing a stethoscope. Luckily I own good headphones.

The highest score I managed to achieve in Valley with my GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0 is 4724 (stable).
    Settings:
    Ultra
    1920x1080 full screen
    AA off
    Overclock:
    Power Limit: 110%
    Core Clock: +120MHz
    Memory Clock: +300MHz
Core Voltage: +87mV (This is just to make sure I am testing the card at its full potential)

The max temp I got was 62C using a custom fan profile. The max fan speed used was 72%, which wasn't loud enough to be bothersome.

I will keep testing the card, as I am sure that I can still achieve slightly higher clocks for both the core and the memory.

Might be time to return my SSC. Any overvoltage and any adjustment to the memory clock results in a driver crash. Max "safe" base clock increase is +100MHz (Got a few succesfull runs in at +110, but also a few crashes). A mix of this card being a dud of an overclocker (and the fact that my card with unlocked voltage is incapable of having that setting touched...) and the sound these fans make is really making me regret not grabbing the Gigabyte card when I had the chance.

I can understand the want to return it for the sound levels (even though fan noise doesn't bother me at all since I game with a headset...) but being upset that your GPU is a dud of an overclocker when it is almost at 1500MHz goes way beyond anything I can understand. You are at 250+ MHz more than stock boost clock.

The main reason is the fan noise. The second reason is they advertise the SSC as having voltage boost, yet, if the voltage is changed even by the smallest increment, it crashes the driver. It's like paying extra to put a 200mph speedometer on a Camry. It's a "feature," but it can't be used.

I also game with a headset, and I can hear the fans ramp up THROUGH my amplified ATH-m50s. That is unacceptable.

Hello to you all.My name si Robert and I'm new to this forum.I am planning on buying a EVGA GTX 970 SSC Acx 2.0.And I would like to ask the owners of this card about the noise, temperatures and performance in gaming. Also heard about a firmware update for the fans to stop spinning in idle mode. Please, if you have the time I will very much appreciate your sincere answers.thank you.

I think so. I just bought this card and no matter what overvoltage setting I set in Precision, the voltage never goes above 1.2V. Is this an issue with the bios?
I even monitored it in GPU-Z just in case Precision was reading the voltage value wrong but it shows the same thing. The overvoltage setting does not have any effect and voltage does not go above 1.2000V. Any comments regarding this issue EVGA?

I have two gtx 970 ssc acx+ cards which i have OC a bit, right now they are running stable at 110mhz offsett clock, mem not touched.. 110% powertarget and +6mV and when stressing it with evga oc scanner X, precision X, shows me boost clocks of 1505mhz up to 1514mhz right now! Temp is around 60c on both cards. And the cards are running on the second bios aswell!
