My 750i sli FTW is now dead....sorta

Well , after all the issues I was having my Corsair psu solved it .  I started to remove the motherboard from the Coolermaster Scout case to install my 780i board in it . went to disconnect the 24 pin connector & was greeted by 2 burnt pins ! The 24 pin connector is burnt too . Power supply is a Corsair 750TX . Now I recently added 2 of my 470s in it but I barely even used it . I also installed my FPS Booster power supply to run just the 470s (rated for them) , the rest of the system ran on the Corsair . Now I have been having issues in the past with this motherboard . So who took out who ?

    Just sent the psu & motherboard to Corsair today . They even provided a prepaid label - nice of them . However , after talking to them again later in the afternoon I learned that I won't get the board back after all . I was hoping they would send it out for repair but they said no , would just issue a check . Now I have to find another 750i or 780i motherboard ... got all the parts except the board...dang .

    Unfortunately, we can't process an RMA for you if you don't have the board anymore. You may want to poke around on the marketplace, see if anyone has one they'd want to part with.

    Just got 3 emails from Corsair . They are replacing the psu and cutting me a check for the motherboard (more than I paid for it). Now I need to find another 750i or 780i board cheap or just sell off the cpu .

    At this point, you're probably better off selling the CPU.  It's going to get more increasingly difficult to get replacement parts for boards, and there isn't much socket 775 lying around, except used.  At this point, it may be time to start thinking about a system overhaul for that one.

    Overhaul , it's time to put it out to pasture...lol ! Guess I'll sell the Q8400 . It's been a good cpu and o/ced fine @ 3.4 ghz . Also have a spare Q6600 laying around too .
     Edit: I have seen some on eBay for $50.00 but I'll wait and see .
