So how is the monitor Meric?

Great enough that I forgot to post about it, lol.

Some pictures:

I just can't get over how big it feels, and I'm coming from 1080p surround! My old setup:

The only question I really wanted answered from this monitor was: is it better than 1080p surround? The answer is yes. How much of that is due to the upgrade to IPS, 1440p and 34" I can't say, I can only say it is better. Sure, it's not as wide, but I don't miss it because the image is so clean, and tall. I still have one 1080p monitor next to it, and the comparison is stark. The image on that screen almost looks blocky to me now. Loving it.

Also, I've played a few games and the most demanding, GTA5, runs very well at this resolution. I've got almost all the settings on max, apart from MSAA which is off, and I'm staying in the 95-100fps range. With 2x MSAA it's 80-90fps, and 4x MSAA in the 60fps range.

Coming from a 120hz display, I can't tell the difference when it comes to motion and smoothness; 100hz really is the sweet spot, I'm not missing those extra 20 frames.

As to any defects: I can confirm the blue banding issue has been fixed, I'm running a solid 100hz with no frame skipping (verified by the UFO test), there is a very slight whine coming from the screen when mostly white pixels are on display, but you'd have to have your ear right next to the monitor to hear it. It's seriously quite, my house's AC or even keyboard strokes drown it out, not to mention games. I've seen some IPS glow, but only when the monitor is about to go into standby, never when a dark image was on screen. so BLB and glow aren't an issue for me.

I'll keep posting on frametimes as I try different games, but the TitanX doesn't seem to be having any issues. I might have to sacrifice some AA on demanding titles, but honestly, with this many pixels, AA isn't that important.

Thanks for the pics and your thoughts!

Wish it was below 1k (or $1299)....really want it but having a hard time getting over spending that much for it.  Although i guess I could sell some monitors I'm using and justify it that way.

Edit:...forgot I still have 2 980 KP's I need to ebay.  There I go...rationalized the purchase.

Thank you for the honest update! :D Very excited for you that you didn't get any burned out pixels. That's one of my biggest fears. Sounds like Acer is taking QC very seriously for this monitor. Now I have to decide if I want to wait for the Asus model to show up, or get the Acer asap.

Any idea when this is going to be available at other retailers besides Newegg (e.g. Amazon, etc.)?
