Volkswagen is recalling 2011-2013 model-year Jettas and 2012-2013 model-year Beetles and Beetle Convertibles to inspect the rear suspensions. Meanwhile, Ford and Acura have issued smaller recalls on certain 2015 Mustang and 2015 TLX vehicles, respectively.

    vehicles get recalled all the time. It's not really a big deal. 99% of the time It is minor stuff.

    Confused as to why we need 4 threads on the front page about them. Owners of those vehicles have been or will be notified is short order.

    Owners do not always get notified. XrayMan just posted in the Toyota recall thread how he was not notified of a recall on his Rav4. Last year a lady I personally know was never contacted by Toyota about a recall on her 2012 Camry, if I had not told her she would have never known.

    Why did you not speak your mind on the postings on GM recalls? Is it ok just to post recalls about them? Do you have vengeance against GM?

    I remember I went to Toyota once for a TPS for my Toyota Tacoma back in 1998.  The guy at the parts counter said there was a recall on my vehicle for head gaskets.  At the time, my truck had 230,000 kms on it.  That recall was the best thing ever!  Although the engine was running fine, upon inspection after removing the heads they found damage to the block deck that could not be machined to fix.....so I got a brand new crate Toyota engine.  Not only that, but the head mechanic at the shop called and said while they had the motor out and the front end apart a bit that pretty much anything I wanted to upgrade in the front end would be labour free, so I went and bought a new aftermarket clutch, motor mounts, electric fan kit, headers and full exhaust.  When I got that truck back it was like brand new again.....best thing EVER!

    That is a heck of a deal. 142k miles and they still fixed it.

    just put it in one thread was all i was saying. If your taking it upon yourself to be the self appointed safety recall czar here keep everything together so those like you that think it is a big deal that a few cars were recalled(something that happens all the time) can go to one thread to see whats going on.

    It might be necessary to do that at some point, if recall threads start taking up most of the real estate on the first page in Gen. Disc.  At this time, however, it's fine.

    @Kram36,

    I agree with Carpenter, and NJ. Maybe a thread titled "Auto Recalls" for example, then just update the one thread with new ones, no matter the brand of car. This would clean up General Disc. a bit, and make it look better.

    I bought a 2013 Jetta diesel. The recall basically is for the garbage rear suspension, it can break in an accident. Man i should have got a 2014 which has redesigned rear suspension. They wont even fix it either, just put a piece of metal in the car so when it breaks, it makes a sound that alerts you to it being broken.

    Haven't you learned? Doing something nice on this forum only does more harm then good. Reason why a lot of people don't post here anymore.
