Last weekend, Microsoft suddenly pulled its online tool for downloading the latest Windows 10 installation files. Today, the company explained the seemingly minor bug responsible for the decision, and has now made the tool available again. Link

I'm updating this thread with recent and past experiences using the above method and I highly recommend it to anyone who needs any ISO for Windows 7 and higher. Using the Developer Console and pasting in the string of characters into the console, allows you to download any version and flavour. https://techjourney.net/windows-7-8-1-10-iso-official-direct-download-links-from-microsoft-tech-bench/ Attached are a couple of screenshots what Windows versions and flavours you can download. As above, it does not prompt you to enter a product key. Download speeds aren't significant, but it does the job.

I see their tricks. They are pulling a Tom Sawyer switcharoo reverse psychology thing on us. Kinda like shutting the doors on the free candy van and drive away only to have them park around the block and honk a few times.

I doubt it is legal to "upgrade" from home to ultimate for "free". No CD Key or Activation code necessary. Just "hack" Microsoft's website and download whichever operating system you want. Yeah... humph!

I didn't say that. These are just ISOs. And, I said you don't need a key to download them via Microsoft Techbench. I didn't say anything about keys not being required for activation. Other people stated in other threads stated they needed to enter their Windows 7 or 8 keys to download that version and flavour from another Microsoft source. Using the cut/paste mentioned above in the Developer Console gives you access to all versions and flavours from 7 to 10 without prompting you for a key to download the ISO. Just a simple misunderstanding.
