For those of you who've avoided upgrading to Windows 10 so far, Microsoft has offered some scary ransomware numbers to prove it's in your interests to do so.  Link

might have something to do with the way the "coincidentally" broke the windows 7 updates - takes forever to get them, if ever since windows 10 was crammed down peoples throats.

I am sure there is, I would place a bet Microsoft is behind it too. Just to get you to upgrade.
I bet the big antivirus software companies are behind all the viruses too.

I have a mix of win7 and 10. Win10 is ok, I have to have win7 since MS did away with support in win10 for MCE I use my TV with a card to watch TV. It is easier to tape shows since I can have as much storage as I want.

I'm not upgrading either. There are still countless people and businesses using XP. Maybe the hackers gave up on XP since nobody is supposed to be using it since MS dropped support?

I'm not apologizing if this comes off as conspiracy, but you guys shouldn't be naive or forget that Microsoft is a business and if they lose sales of Win 10 to their own previous OS discovered by their own marketing and statistic department, then of course generating some hype or hysteria would help sales.  After all, a dollar for MS isn't a dollar for MS if it interferes with a new product roll out.

I'm not saying these "randomwares" aren't real, I'm just saying take it with salt; I've never (yet) experienced it, while someone else could have and then got Windows 10 (congratulations to MS for the successful campaign).

If I get Windows 10, it won't be because I'm afraid my current OS is up for grabs, is has to be because I want the features and support of new applications that MS is trying to isolate to make the OS more appealing.  I'd like to think the rest of you that went on to 10 did it because you wanted to, not because MS' scare tactics about your previous OS worked.

TEC/Peltier definitions, formulas and temperature estimations

For Intel processors, 0.122 x TDP = Continuous Amps at 12v [source].

This is like Samsung sending out a report that they made telling you how safe the note 7 is along with a pie graph to prove it.

Just fearmongering by Microsoft to push users to windows 10. What i don't get is why doesn't the NSA or FBI track down people doing ransomeware.

Because they would expose people that would get them fired, like people with private email servers and people related to those people... in high places.

If Windows 7 is soooo dangerous and everybody hates Windows 10, the obvious solution would be to re-release Windows 7 new and improved version next year and call it Windows 17. Makes sense to me anyway.
