That could be a problem for the game devs & players - having to go to MS for licensing a very popular in-game physics middleware code

Good for MS , potentially bad for all the people wanting to use it and now dealing w/ Microsoft.  MS doesn't really have the best track record for helping gamers, that aren't on XBOX.....

Not all that interested in it. So many more interesting thing in DX12 to contemplate than a decade old physics engine.

Microsoft wouldn't have bought it unless they have plans to make it better.

Maybe they do make it better. Honestly I never thought the whole physics thing in video games was great to begin with. Heck only good thing it produced was a few laughs due to how bad\unrealistic the physics tend to be.

My thoughts exactly. Havoc physx still around though. Probably MS have good plans on using extensively in their games, specially their mobile devices. There's nothing more amazing than seeing a great amount of explosions and particles in a game.

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.
