My first true modded rig is dubbed "Micro genetalia", because reasons. Base components: - Inside the gorgeous and practical(!!!) Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV mATX, white. - Two furious R9 exes (xfire, duh). - The budget Haswell-E, 5820k. - Minimalistic, sleek looking EVGA X99 micro2 is connecting everything. - Memory.. meh, boring. It's there. 2x8GB atm. - Storage is also boring. M.2 and two 2½-SSDs is hiding. Totalling 860GB. - Corsair RMx 850W provides VDC. It might be too weak for my intentions. Everything is crammed together and running. What will happen in the near future? Water-cooling! Edit: Most hardware in place incl tools
- Chromed copper tubing. - EKWB-blocks. - Red minimalistic LED-lighting reflecting the tubing. - Unreasonable sized reservoir. Clear fluid. LED-lit? Depends how it looks. - Two 240 radiators. Alphacool XT45 (top, pull) and XT30 (front, push-pull). - EKWB-pump. - Looking at different loop-options. Consider copper ain't flexible at all it is a FUN challenge. Pic: some stuff on the little workbench I'll be using Why will this project never end? - This is my chill-project. I'm already thinking of possibilities to drill, weld, paint, machine, test, redo, rework. Due to work I can do all that stuff. The possibilities are astonishing really. Stock hardware: 3DMark Score 20'292, stock Fury X's (iirc) and 3.7GHz for the CPU. Didn't stress the stock system to its max.

Enthoo EVOLV isn't marketed as a "silent case". I can tell you this case dampens high pitched sounds and air turbulence better than my previous case, Define R4. Thick aluminium plates brings more than marketed. Current situation. Placed a tube piece inside. Haven't bothered even remove the temporary cables for a HDD used in previous case. The black hole top-right on above pic. It's big enough for a control board of some kind. Inside volume measured. Marked a rough cut out.

I'm curious how this will end up as well as the cable management.

This is the most insane plastic film I've ever seen. Walked into a random storage at work and spotted some shimmers on a shelf. My reaction: - Woah!A colleagues reaction: - Cool! FUBAR-option got a vote.

Yikes, yeah I can definitely imagine a better situation without all that tubing and cables :) Awesome computer though, can't wait to see some more pictures and progress!

Done some minor things. - Painted a few brackets. - Pump-cables are now black. - Drilled holes in the GPU-blocks. - Planned the loop. - Made 1 tube piece, res->pump. Fyi, I only use straight fittings. Angled fittings looks cheap and easy imo. Promised the family I would show off this project. My birthday is the deadline. Comprehension level "wat!" expected from them.

So close. Managed to unbend and rebend enough to make a good fit. I use fittings without o-rings for guidance.

I like the tube, I thought it might be a little tough to work with. Trying to keep it looking nice while bending.

@rjohnson Now... cable management. Almost Christmas but better. What's up with the project? I'll come back with pics on fails and unique problems requiring unique solutions. Got 1 minor painful water leak. It's a pain to fix and the fluid is far away from any electronics. Temps: GPUs chilling at 3 deg C above room temperature. CPU is frozen at 34 deg C. Water thermometer say 29 deg C. Sound-level: I'm sitting with my head beside it writing enjoying music, not bothered. 1st fail of the day was the unsuccessful installation of GPU-drivers. Installing AMD-drivers odds are 1:3 it's a success.

Honestly. Does it look like newbie build? Imo it does. Blue water? Unexpected chemical reaction from the "anti-corrosion, anti-growth" additive. Only desk cable management on the to-do list before getting serious with fan-pump-settings and clock speeds.

Thanks for the comments! When will there be any good 4k monitors out there? Have OCd the Fury X's far beyond my expectations after disabling all the power saving features.

Sun is excellent heat gun. Stickers almost fell off. Behind the bracket. Ingenuity, if I so. Fixing the painful leak with a damaged o-ring. It holds. What I got for buying the cheap stuff. A whispering snap!. And the Indigo fail. Luckily nothing got shorted.

Far from done. Been playing around with the temps/pump/fans/loudness-quaternity. Standoffs and longer screws for the front panel. 140mm exhaust changed to intake. Will do a proper job... some day. Result: Gained 10 deg C headroom when testing the 5820k. Haven't tested the whole system gain yet. I should really add some polish.

Hmm... Fury X can do red, blue or red+blue ("purple"). There's two switches on the PCB-top. Had a scavenged blue 3mm-LED and placed in a LED-hole on the bottom card. Camera is crap.

XSPC LCD temp sensor suffers from poor quality. Bought only because I was too lazy doing it myself really. Unsupported cable = bad quality.
