Hey guys, so I installed bios 1.07 and overclocked my memory speed to stable 3000Ghz - DDR4. How can I check at what speed it's actually operating in windows? I see in CPU-Z in memory tab that DRAM Frequency is 1200 MHz so since it is DDR4 I multiply that value x4 right? so it gives me 4800Mhz? I'm little confused, can you please help?

Double Data Rate so you double the 1200 that it shows in CPUID.
So your memory is at 2400mhz.
you do not multiply times 4, only multiply your cupid times two.
4 means 4 channels, 4 memory slots, 4 sticks of  memory are being used.
to overclock your memory you must raise  your bclk.
the cupid number will not increase until you raise your bclk.

so when do you need 3000mhz memory?
    well sometime you don't.
some high quality memory is capable of running overclocked, like the 2400mhz dominator.
if you are going to overclock your bclk high enough that cupid shows 1500mhz memory frequency then you need a memory that is capable of being stable at that speed. if it is stable then it will be overclocked to 3000mhz and cupid will show 1500mhz memory frequency.

    forgot to mention.
    your overclock is 45x100.
so you have to go back down with the multiplier and raise the bclk to overclock the memory.
45x100=4500mhz cpu speed and then memory would not be overclocked.
36x125=4500mhz cpu speed and then memory would be overclocked
the challenge is finding the settings that are stable with your overclock with the parts you have chosen for your build.

Usually using XMP settings will put your memory to the specs they were built for. Sometimes, however, XMP doesnt work and you have to manually enter settings. The rated speed for the memory that you posted is 2800Mhz though not 3000Mhz

Those sticks will support 2800Mhz at 16-18-18-36 timings and 1.2v

The 4 just refers to it being the fourth generation of DDR Ram. That's all it means.

In bios I have 2 options XMP1 which indicated that memory will be at 2800 mhz and XMP2 which indicates that memory will work with 3000 mhz frequency. Do I need to change bclk in order to get that speed? My CPU is very stable at 100 bclk when I raise thats when I start getting issues. But chesspc advised that I should raise bclk value in order to hit 2800 or 3000 mhz.

I think I was wrong about XMP.
I got my XMP working and my memory went from 2134 to 2400 without raising my Bclk.
2800 wont work in my system with XMP but 2400 will.
    Sorry about confusing info.
What worked with my EVGA SR2 is not the same as the Classified X99 using XMP.
