    Back in the day...the G400 was a card to be reckoned with.  It ruled over ELSA, ATI and the rest for quite a while.  Matrox just didn't feel like playing the game...our loss!

    Oh they play the game, just not the part we are mostly interested in. 
     
    The part they play, they play it very well. Did you see how many monitors that thing supports...one one single slot card...9!
     
    That's where matrox rocks, not in raw performance, but in simplicity, yet massive amounts of graphical real estate. The last video wall I setup had a Nvidia card for compute/hardware acceleration, and two matrox cards to span quite a few monitors. All without the massive dedicated setups that many video walls take.
