50GB seems to be getting to be the norm for base game sizes! I would not be surprised if we don't start seeing 20GB patches as well...

Yea its just very strange, I installed a bunch of older games for 9x onto an 80gb Hard Drive, I installed a total of 53 games, it ate up about 17gb of space total for all the installed games things are out of control.

Since all EA games are downloads anyway, this is a red herring. Mass Effect 3 only had a game code in the retail copy anyway. Just a stub to install Origin and the keys needed to unlock game and extras. Remember Microsoft screwing the pooch on Halo Master Chief Collection?

I've rarely seen huge patches from EA, but I could see reviewers getting different patches due to timing. They might have gotten an early build and been sent a new build that required new assets. Of course Bethesda sent 50GB for Fallout 4 for little gain as their aggressive LOD settings nerfed it's impact greatly. Edit - I misread. 55GB is about right for games these days. Patches are part for the course, there's always bugs to get ironed out. Especially if you want to sell gamers on extended content later. At least these days it's automatic. It really stunk back when you had to search out updates and incrementally apply them.
