I suggest setting IE as the default browser (IE 8 is best, if you havent updated to IE9 yet stick with 8)
Then test again.... also it should be noted that EA/DICE is doing backend and game patching this morning and it might NOT be a good time to be testing. I suggest testing tonight after the changes have settled in

If you have already updated to IE9 then you can uninstall it using Control Panel - Uninstall a Program - View Installed Updates, it is in the list under Windows Updates, right click and uninstall, it reverts back to IE8 after restart ; )

Why should raw mouse input be turned off?

thats it. blaghhhhh...

i uninstalled Asus GPU boost.
underclocked to 820mhz
put gpu voltage @ 1.0
switched to IE 8
reinstalled realtek drivers for on board audio (even tried playing  with no on board audio drivers).

all this on top of everything ive already done and STILLLL cant play the game.
i give up. hours and hours and hours of tweaking.

f it. guess i gotta wait for nvidia to release something, ea to patch something, asus to update a bios, or evga to do something.

just great..  oh and i find out my vet status for battlefield 2 and 2142 arent found some how from their support. umm.. bought bf2 when it launched and been playing ever since.

what a fabulous day.

Still working good for me.  Have been experimenting with settings and found I can crank everything back up to Ultra and On, except Deferred AA is Off... my test setup is dual 560 non-Ti OC to 900 on a 2600K OC to 4.4

Vsync still forced off

Re:MANIAC's BF3 -temporary- Quick Guide for users having issues 2011/11/11 05:55:20 (permalink)
i found a fix for my evga 560 ti and BF3.

oddly enough - switching from windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit did it.

it was the last and ONLY thing that differed from the system i built for my friend. i had to bite the bullet and just upgrade.. but it worked.

i ve only crashed once when i turned everything to ultra.

now im increasing things one by one and playing for 30 minutes to see what might cuase the crash.

after i find a good stable settings - than ill OC the processor and ram etc and get this b*tch running the wayt it should.

im gonna go post in some of the other forums and hopefully upgrading to 64bit might help someone else too.

20+ hours of reading forums and testing etc and thats all it was??? maybe it has to do with the memory.. going to 64bit im not using the full registered 8gb of ram instead of the 4gb of 8 gb it recognized.

with msi afterburner @ 85% fan, 900mhz (stock) my in game gpu temp is @ a nice 60 degrees.. not too shabby.     :0)

Still no solution for my issue since Day One

EVGA X58 758
i7 920 OC @ 3.4Ghz
SLI EVGA GTX260
12GB 1600Mhz

Issue: Freezing + looping sound requiring a hard reboot on PB servers only

I'm having this problem since the begining .I did a fresh Windows 7 Ultimate 64 install on a new HDD,running the 285.62 Nvidia drivers - graphics driver only - after a clean installation....
I've tried the following:

- Rolling back to previous Nvidia drivers
- Installing the latest beta 285.79 drivers (only graphics driver)
- Removing Realtek HD audio and installing generic Windows audio drivers
- Installing the latest Realtek drivers from EVGA website
- Installing the latest Realtek drivers from Realtek website
- Running at stock settings without OC
- Monitoring and logging GPU temps (normal)
- Updating PB manually
- Repairing BF3 from Origin
- Disabling Anti-virus
- Changing Windows 7 power management settings as suggested
- Changing BF3 profile settings in Nvidia panel
- Overclocking/downclocking my GPUs

Disabling audio from bios ---> No freezing (but no sound too :))
Playing on PB-off servers ---> No freezing (but too many hackers :))

I purchased a 5.1 Logitech sound system especially for BF3...but for time being I'm using a USB Logitech headset.
I will wait for the 1st patch,or maybe grab a cheap sound card. But it's clear that there is conflict between PB and Realtek drivers.

The only way I can get this game to work great is by down clocking the GTX 560 (SC) from 865Mhz ---> 825Mhz and the memory freq from 2002 ---> 1950.

When I do this, I can play the game without the retrarded "Battlefield has stopped responding" message.

The cards voltage is at 1.075 BTW (default).

Hmmmmmm ok i was having the dis-conn issue every 10-15 mins then i remembered Maniac's guide to BFBC 2 so tweaked everything, however the real clincher was dis-abling UPNP in my router. Had no problems since and been rampaging hard.

Wetdream,

If you are still having problems try a different Virus scanner.  Some of t5he guys I play with have had similar issues and was finaly able to fix it by changing their Virus protection.
It might (not positive) have been AVG causing it but I think I have read somewhere there are others that cause problems as well.

Anyone know if there is a console command for gamma or even any other brightness/contrast settings? Even on max brightness via the menus its way too dark.

Hey sorry for delay, tottaly forgot.
I sorted it in the NVCP anywyas.
Another Question, why are the gfx so
much better in co-op than in
multiplayer? Take the last level in
co-op for eg, the metro station has all
sharp textures and true colors but in MP
its all a blurry low-res blue-tinted mess.

I use to have the same issues with crashing. I tried everything from tweaking voltage, re-installing drives, tweaking in game settings with no luck. I decided to reformat my computer and upgrade from windows vista to windows 7 ultimate and now it runs for hours on end with no crashes.

On another note, I am having an issue with the quality of BF3. I have a 2.8 ghz quad core Q9550 with a single GTX 580 SC and I've been having some slight tearing issues when playing. When I say tearing, when I look around with my mouse, you can notice it skipping frames. (I don't know if its called tearing or not.) I know that BF3 is a much hardware dependent game than Bad Company 2, but is there anyway I can get it to run as smooth as BC2 with the specs that I have? I tried your settings but I'm getting the same results as I am with my previous stock settings. As I mentioned above, I just reformatted my computer.

Specs:

CPU: Q9550 2.8 ghz Quad Core
Ram: 8 gb ddr2
Video Card: 580 gtx SC
Power supply: 750 watts
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
650 SATA harddrive

Please tell me if there is anything I need to post such as a video of what's happening or my startup programs, etc.
