Can someone recommend what they think is the best pick for a 144hz / 1440 p monitor for my 1070 FTW card? I know there are a lot of reviews out there, but it's really tough to get a handle on all the specs and make a selection. I'm also hoping to hear people's experiences based on this particular card. I don't need Gsync.. What I really care about is good color quality, black-to-black, and viewing angles. My price range is $250-$400. Here is my PC build:   thank you!

Up your budget and get it all! Asus ROG SWIFT PG279Q.

It's a 27" 2560x1440 ips g-sync monitor 144-165hz. Trust me with a single card at this res you want that g-sync to help smooth out those frames when they dip into the 50-60 range.

Intel i9 9900K @ 5.2Ghz Single HUGE Custom Water Loop.
Asus Z390 ROG Extreme XI MB
    G.Skill Trident Z 32GB (4x8GB) 4266MHz DDR4
    EVGA 2080ti K|NGP|N w/ Hydro Copper block.
34" Dell Alienware AW3418DW 1440 Ultra Wide GSync Monitor
    Thermaltake Core P7 Modded w/ 2x EK Dual D5 pump top,2 x EK XE 480 2X 360 rads.1 Corsair 520 Rad.

Erm they are the exact same panel if I remember correctly if you mean the IPS 165Hz 1440p from Acer. From what I've seen the Acer beats the Asus in price and on average people have received a better panel from them however the Asus has some features the Acer didn't which I now can't remember, also the OSD navigation buttons on the Asus are apparently way better.

Got the Asus myself and I'm quite happy except I wish I could have gotten a 144Hz 1440p IPS Ultrawide but sadly they don't seem to exist yet.

It would definitely be +1 if you could shed some light on the "extra features" the Asus has. I'm looking to upgrade myself, and had my eyes on the Acer. however if the "features" you're mentioning make the Asus model better, i'll look at that also.

PS: I suggested Acer, in addition to, because I have heard more flack about Asus monitors than I have with Acer. Those  willing to buy Asus should keep that in mind and have been warned. Yeah yeah... every company has problems, but the most I have seen so far is coming from Asus.

I tried to find anything but I might be confusing it with something else sorry =/

Only rumor I found really is that Acer reduced some settings on hardware side to make the panels have less BLB & uniformity issues which causes some movies and games to be very dark.

Some facts however are that the quality of build itself is better on the Asus as well as that they have a better pixel guarantee than Acer which seems to have a pretty horrible one.

Don't really think you can go wrong here... both of them are basically lotteries if you get a monitor from the earlier batches of production. My Asus has been pretty great but there's 3 spots of BLB on it which are noticeable on a black screen in certain angles. Strangely enough I haven't noticed it at all the last 3 weeks so it can't be that bad.

I cannot recommend BenQ enough to my co-gamers. BenQ has surpassed Asus when it comes to color and visual quality, and many have switched over to BenQ in the last year or so.
I use the XL2420TE Lightboost/Motion Blur/ 1ms/144hz/ 1080p, but my next one will be the BenQ 1440p ZL type 1ms/144hz panel. Hands down unbeatable at their prices.
If your looking for 1080p this is the one to own right now- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824014384
    for 1440p- http://www.newegg.com/Pro...x?Item=N82E16824014451

Thanks to all.. Very helpful. Factoring all that's been said, and my inability to decide on certain features over others, think I might just go crazy and get the Acer XB270HU. It has it all. 1440p, 144hz, Gsync, and a IPS Panel... Pretty reasonable deal on Ebay for one right now.

I picked up a Dell S2716DG monitor from best buy. 144hz 1440p Gsync 8 bit TN panel. If you buy one may sure is a revision A02 or A03.
It was on sale for 450 dollars.. If you can find it at that price again its totally worth it. Even though i love it i would not pay more than 500 dollars for it as it is a TN panel.
