Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion it took me about a month when you factor in exploring and completeing every quest. This includes the expansion packs too. Fallout 3 would have to be my second longest, at about 2 weeks or so, when exploring and completeing all quests and expansions. XrayMan
^ Speaking of FPS games. Soldier Of Fortune 2 was a long game. Don't know if anyone else here ever played that game.
I did, I loved that game, the graphics and random mission generator were way ahead of its time on that. I wish more FPS games used it.

Dragon Age Origins with all dlc including awakening gave me 18 hours of play
unfortunatelythough games like this that actually make me play longer rather then only getting only a couple hours out of it are rare

I would have to say Oblivion with mods. I spent hours on that game and hardly touched the main quest.

final fantasy XIII, have 120 hours and still on chapter 11 LOL, first play through even. i think i'm doing something wrong
I am on chapter 11 also floating around 60 hours I could go on the chapter 12 but I wanted to finish all the side missions first with 5 star ratings. Prolly would have less time into it if some nights I did not fall asleep during the extra long cut scenes. Not in a real hurry to finish anyway just fun to dink around and stuff :)

Morrowind for me. I played that game almost all day, every day for like 2 weeks to finish it. I could've finished it earlier, by the end I could kill Vivec no problem, but I did a lot of side quests and wasted time hunting down items I sold earlier after finding out they were quest items :P
I never did bother playing Oblivion too much, probably because I didn't want a repeat of Morrowind ;)

I can remember some nintendo games taking weeks to beat. Part of it was having to write out the stupid passwords to save the games or punching the NES in the mouth to get the cartridge to play correctly.
For the PC, the original Halflife 2 took me a bit to beat but that was because I didn't want it to end so I explored everything. Metro 2033 and Dead space are both taking me some time but maybe it's because I am having a hard time continue playing them as I think they so far have been overrated.

RPG's are always longest- Might&Magic 6-9, Morrowind, Fallout 3, Knights of the Old Republic 1/2 (had to play both twice (so 4X) for light/dark characters),Obilvion has about 130 hours for me.

You know what takes a long time to get everything in? Pokemon....Catching all the Pokemon isnt very easy. Wasted many hours on my game boy for that
Public notice: BF3 is actually still mostly a PC game!! With state of the art graphics and effects like none other! And all issues you may be having can be solved with google!

Just curious as to what the longest game(s) you guys have played to take you to finish (or try to). Mine is definitely Just Cause 2. I have almost 18 hours and am only 21% complete (this is with some fooling around though).

Bunch of little kids..... And I'm only 23!
TIE Fighter on an AMD K6-2 400 and a voodoo2 pass-through card.
MONTHS. That game was flipping epic. I played it every chance I got, replayed missions as I went through it to get good scores.
[OT].....Anyone know of a good modern space combat sim? (FS2 was incredible, I know about the FS2 Open project, I just need a new challenge)

Not sure how many hours, but I spent about a year and a half playing Oblivion before I completed the primary mission. I still have not completed the expansion "Shivering Isles".

Longest for me was fallout3, i completed the whole game and all the side missions (and the update pack, for extra mission after mainstoryline)
I would say it took me a month, of playing frequently, a hour or two a day.
I tried oblivion before but i never finished it :P

for everyone saying oblivion- i agree with you. i have installed that game on three different computers. i get really far into the game, and then its time for a new rig, so i have to start all over :P Modern warfare 2 is also another big one, but for muli player. i have almost 24 days of gameplay in and i still have to unlock ac130-sentry guns-pavelow- and the stealth bomber titles. its going to take me forever

GTA IV, have had the game for over a year, can never get past 40% completion due to locks ups, saves getting corrupted and starting over again, or some other nonsense...

i actually found oblivion lacking where morrowind won on time wasted
oblivion with all side quests and expansions took me maybe 4 days @ 8 hrs a day so like 32 hrs

Ya, the main game was not that long. I heavilly modded my game, weapons to weather and explored every cubby hole there was. I had all the offcial add-ons and quests; knights of the nine etc. Then at some point in the Shivering Ilse I just got burned out and quit; 130+ hours.

Morrowind and its expansions. That game was monstrous in size and scope. I dont even know how many hours I played. I played it so much on the original Xbox that I went through 3 copys because I kept buring the disk up. I played everyday for close to 11 months.

LOL I've had 10th Prestige with like all unlocks for a long time. To get a lot of XP just do challenges.
