Did you find the solution to your issue with enabling k boost? I'm having the same trouble and can't find any other posts regarding it.
When I left click (& hold) the k boost button, it lights. As soon as I release left click the button greys out again.
I appreciate it's been ages since you posted, but hoping you sorted it and still visit the forum.

Cheers

Yes, I found the solution (for me anyway!)

launch the Precision X control panel
hover mouse anywhere in the panel
hold left shift & left ctrl
click middle mouse button
a window should then pop up
tick "Turn off KBOOST limitation" box
click OK
done

Hope it helps you

is it safe to use though? I don't  overclock and i don't need bat files. Can you just click KBoost and just keep the fan percentage high? I best think it's best if left alone. I wouldn't want problems. Does KBoost effect performance on gaming?

Yes. Yep. Depends on the game.
