That price is absolutely ridiculous. We are better off waiting for the 1080TI if the 980 series taught us anything. They can't even keep up with demand and they are announcing this already. I kinda feel offended as a customer. That same cooling system can't even keep the 1080 FE's at proper temps. I sincerely hope that fan is better than the FE edition.

How are you offended? You have a 980TI FTW. you're not even going to see that big of an increase going to a 1080 (if you are that is); you have nothing to be offended about.

Sajin The name of the card is just "Nvidia Titan X" GeForce GTX isn't used.
when you go to their hardware it reads: GEFORCE GTX TITAN X THE ULTIMATE

The 1080 ti might be a problem for the new titan owners this time around if it has 12 gb of ddr5x also. Maybe ti will be skipped because the titan should of had 16 gb or ram if ti were going to be release anytime soon.

How do you think all these 1080 lovers are going to feel? The 1080TI (if it comes out, based on rumors...) is going to ruin the 1080.

Well they would be hurt but the people that spend 1200 on and new titan x pascal would be hurt even more if a 1080 ti came out 3 months later for 850-900 and about the same speed as a titan x also with 12 gb of vram. I guess one way too look at it is the $300 more for the new titan pascal will be for an earlier release premium lol

yes I'm paying that premium and would stick with titan x. not sure if I'm willing to wait for evga this time even if they have the best rma/customer service and best cards around.

Many people are saying this is basically the 1080 Ti. I kinda agree. The Ti might be skipped this time. This is not the full Titan. Black will be next and not cut down. The full chip this time. $1,500 maybe?!?! I think Nvidia might have ticked off a lot of people now to. Stock issues continue to exist and the 1080 is now old news. It lasted for what like 2 months? Its crazy right now. $2,000 cards will be approaching this time next year if this keeps happening. 2018 at the latest.

I think it might be skipped literally and figuratively if that's the case. If that indeed is the case, it's too rich for my blood, I'll see what Vega offers.

The speculation and assumptions in this thread are rather amusing.
Does noone remember the Titan X Maxwell (since Nvidia forgot to change names) and then 6 months later the 980ti that performed nearly the exact same, minus a few gb of ram. What makes you think Nvidia is afraid of undercutting the people that buy the Titan? Let me also remind of the 780/titan, then 780ti and then Titan black. Every time, people are seriously surprised by Nvidia repeating it's own history. Will anyone learn?

Will EVGA be allowed at least custom cooling such as a hybrid or hydrocopper just like the original Titan X? If not: 4. Will the current 1080 hybrid kit fit on the new Titan X?

It looks amazing, however for most gamers this card will not make a difference. For that amount of cash you can buy 2 1080 GTX cards and outperform this thing in gaming. Now if you are into video editing and require a large amount of memory then this card is definitely for you. But yeah...you will not see a huge step up.

Hmmm. Not the performance boost I'd like and not worth $1200, but I'm still tempted to buy two. Is that bad? On a serious note, I have a feeling we'll see a Pascal refresh next year, so it might be worthwhile to wait, especially since we still don't have 4K 120Hz+ with g-sync on the market.

Maybe the ti will have 8 or 10gb of hbm2. More then likely regardless of numbers the ti will match or outperform the Titan x at a much more reasonable price as is always the case. Nvidia don't care who they offend they pray on impulse buyers and enthusiast who have disposable income. That's why they tier their cards the way they do cause people eat it up just to say they have the latest and greatest. Heck I'm poor but I still upgrade gpu for dismal improvements every year. Went from 580 to 680/780/980/980ti now I have the 1080 and I'll likely get the ti when it releases. I have never owned a Titan and likely never will it's just an overpriced preview of what the ti performance will have. I'm not paying a $600 premium for a couple extra gigs of vram and better fp64 performance. I'll wait. Hopefully ti will land in March

I think that the GTX1080 is about 20% faster than an actual TitanX, so if nvidia says that the new Titan will be 60% faster than the old one, it will have arround 40% more power than a GTX1080. That's a lot of horsepower! But paying 80% more for 40% of improvement... It's good to have an ultraflagship card arround for the people that can afford it, but that's not for me. This version will be castrated on double-precision compared to professional cards?

That would be nice and all if I could actually buy an EVGA GTX 1080.. They are always sold out.. I'm not kidding you.. I have nearly an unlimited budget to build whatever I want for my next system.. I have most of the components and water blocks.. The component I'm missing are the gpu's. But guess what, I haven't been able to buy them.. Three times I had 2 cards in my cart on the EVGA store, but always ended with an error because apparently I wasn't fast enough entering my CC# and the cards were sold before I could finish.. Hell, I was even contacted by someone at EVGA to do a manual order.. Emailed the form back and heard nothing.. Santa probably has my CC# now lol... But the silver lining is that all this inventory BS has forced me to wait. And now we have an even faster card being released.. I have no problem spending more, as long as its MSRP prices..

strange, all i can see in that photo is 83C+ ,high fan RPM, no much of overclocking headroom(with that cooler, ofc you can slap 100% fan speed but the noise :S ), 1200$ (1400-1800$ for first stock round), about 200$ more for water cooling solution. my wallet giving me a slap on the cheek. but if you say beautiful i guess beauty is in the eyes of the beholder :)

NIR_Rimc Is it will be on EVGA stepup from 1080FTW?
Very unlikely. I don't think I've ever seen a Titan card offered for stepup. Also I'm not sure why everyone is saying it is a rip off. It is using the same pricing model as they always have which is $500 more than the x80 card price. No one is forcing you to buy and more than likely if you had $1000 to throw into a single GPU to being with it doesn't really matter. You can expect the 1080ti, assuming there will be one, to be at least $800 unless they decided to do a price drop on the 1080 which isn't likely.
