Is it will be on EVGA stepup from 1080FTW?

Very unlikely. I don't think I've ever seen a Titan card offered for stepup.

Also I'm not sure why everyone is saying it is a rip off. It is using the same pricing model as they always have which is $500 more than the x80 card price. No one is forcing you to buy and more than likely if you had $1000 to throw into a single GPU to being with it doesn't really matter. You can expect the 1080ti, assuming there will be one, to be at least $800 unless they decided to do a price drop on the 1080 which isn't likely.

It's too much for me. If you're willing to pay it's not a rip off, that's for sure ;)

I don't think it's a rip off, really, just more than I'm willing to pay for playing games when my 1080 already is overkill for what's out there.
(at least at the resolutions and refresh rates I am currently capable of playing at).

Can Jacob confirm:
1. Will EVGA get the Titan X or is it a Nvidia store exclusive? If so:
2. Will EVGA be allowed to make custom PCBs? If not:
3. Will EVGA be allowed at least custom cooling such as a hybrid or hydrocopper just like the original Titan X? If not:
4. Will the current 1080 hybrid kit fit on the new Titan X?

1. Let's hope so for the warranty and customer service.
2. No.  This will be like every other Titan.
3. Probably.
4. Probably as well.  I read that they hadn't fabbed any different boards at this point that had shown up anywhere, so it should be the same board.

The speculation and assumptions in this thread are rather amusing.

Does noone remember the Titan X Maxwell (since Nvidia forgot to change names) and then 6 months later the 980ti that performed nearly the exact same, minus a few gb of ram. What makes you think Nvidia is afraid of undercutting the people that buy the Titan? Let me also remind of the 780/titan, then 780ti and then Titan black. Every time, people are seriously surprised by Nvidia repeating it's own history. Will anyone learn?

I did I will never buy another titan ( at full retial) after the last one. But here's the thing NVIDIA does not care about your hurt feelings or whatever all they care about is getting out products that can yield them income. There is money right now in producing the fastest and best Gaming video card when they can because there selling out bottom line.

*Sigh*  I remember when $1400 bought me 4 that's right FOUR of the top GPU's in the form of 2 590's. $1200 and they couldn't even be bothered to use HBM2.

But hey, its just one step close to the average person having to get a loan just to buy the top graphics card. Honestly though I'm surprised they didn't go founders edition again and make the base price one $1200 and the founders edition $1400 just to see how much they could push and have people pour out their wallets for a single card. I'd laugh if over the next few series of chips NVidia introduces financing options for these top level gaming cards.

I can still dream that AMD's vega comes out and slaps the titan around at $600 but it seems doomed that in a few years the top graphics card will cost more than a decent used car. The part that gets me is people will still buy it like its a right of passage to blow as much money on a single card as possible every year or two. Not to mention the people that buy 2-3. In a few more years, 2-3 top cards will be equivalent to a small down payment for a house.

Congrats to the guys that get these, enjoy them!

Also, I wonder how many people are going to be duped into getting the previous titan x by scalpers portraying it as the new one.

Many people are saying this is basically the 1080 Ti. I kinda agree. The Ti might be skipped this time. This is not the full Titan. Black will be next and not cut down. The full chip this time. $1,500 maybe?!?! I think Nvidia might have ticked off a lot of people now to. Stock issues continue to exist and the 1080 is now old news. It lasted for what like 2 months? Its crazy right now. $2,000 cards will be approaching this time next year if this keeps happening. 2018 at the latest.

Totally true, the latest full cheep Titan was Titan black, everything after that is gimped, crippled cut down rip-off.

Its honestly not wise for anyone to pay the premium for titan over 1080 for pretty much the same thing.

I'm Titan fan, always been, but until they bring full functionality and allow 3-4 way sli Titan  they can take their premium card and brain wash other suckers, it's just plain dumb, sorry for harsh used words but its true and I'm sure others will agree.

Rumors all over Reddit Titan thread is that there might not be a Ti released at all. It all depends on how Vega performance does.

Oh no. Will the 1080 hybrid kit fit? This is not good I designed my entire computer around an AIO setup. I do NOT want to put 2 of these side by side in my MATX motherboard I'm now going to have to swap my case & motherboard to allow some breathing room...

Burned? Hardly.

Would you hold off all purchases because you know that in 10 years they'll have graphics cards 30 times faster than what we have today? No? What about five years? One year? Six months? There's no cut and dried answer here: every consumer has to make the decision about how long they're willing to deny themselves the value of using what's available right now in exchange for an opportunity to buy a faster or cheaper card at some point in the future.

Most educated users who bought a 1080 so far know that in a few months there will be something faster. That's hardly getting burned. They're enjoying their 1080 right now, as we speak, while those waiting for the 1080ti, or next year's 1180, or the 1180 ti a few months later, are enjoying their dreams and fantasies of what it will finally be like.

If this is releasing in 10 days, we will have some real answers then.  You know eVGA is under NDA right now.

1. The new TITAN X will only be NVIDIA only and only available from NVIDIA.com.
like never available from EVGA? When the 1080 launched, it was an NVIDIA exclusive for two weeks or so. Titans have never been custom PCB but I was planning on buying a pascal titan x hybrid considering you guys gave the Maxwell hybrid higher clocks and the transferable warranty.

Oh no. Will the 1080 hybrid kit fit? This is not good I designed my entire computer around an AIO setup. I do NOT want to put 2 of these side by side in my MATX motherboard I'm now going to have to swap my case & motherboard to allow some breathing room...

We do not have any information on the PCB layout of the Titan X, but it will not fit just on the basis that the shroud only has a hole for the 8 pin PCIe power connector and not an 6 and an 8 pin

What, Nvidia lied on their own blog?

For clarity, not only Nvidia.com will be selling the things - "TITAN X will be available Aug. 2 for $1,200 direct from nvidia.com in North America and Europe, and select system builders. It is coming soon to Asia."

As per - https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2016/07/21/titan-x/

It sucks that Nvidia is giving consumers the finger (pricing) as well as partners (limiting point of sale).

Not sure what you keep posting that for.  It says only from nvidia.com and as an OEM part to builders.

Because, it quite simply means that it IS NOT exclusively sold on Nvidia.com.

Several EVGA reps have stated to the contrary of what Nvidia released.

I realise that can be hard to grasp, but it is what it is.

Harder to grasp for you, perhaps.  You personally, as a consumer, will have to either buy the card from NVIDIA or order a complete system build through Falcon Northwest (or whatever builders they choose) to get the card.  You keep validating the statement every single time you post it.  But I'm done.  Seems to be pointless to try to discuss this with you.

Hmmm.  Not the performance boost I'd like and not worth $1200, but I'm still tempted to buy two.  Is that bad?  On a serious note, I have a feeling we'll see a Pascal refresh next year, so it might be worthwhile to wait, especially since we still don't have 4K 120Hz+ with g-sync on the market.

+1 .... arestavo is splitting hairs. This will be a non evga card for awhile and oem peeps like falcon and dell but they're not really considered resellers... hence the OEM name.

I certainly never expected them to drop so soon.
But that price is outrageous for gaming or producer.
According to their own stats the fp64 isn't changed any from the 1080 and the increased core count is nowhere near priced proportionally. You'd have to be nuts to pony up for this card. It's like a 40% max increase in performance and more likely as low as 24%. For almost double a 1080s price. At that price I'd wait for the 1180 or 1280, at least then I could get EVGA version.
