After taking a good look at the PCB of a GeForce GTX 680 Engineering Sample, like this one:

VERY LARGE SCAN!

I found out that J4 could of been the spot where leds could be attached to illuminate the GEFORCE GTX Logo's on their sides like the 690's have these days.

Now I ask: Did any GTX 680 Engineering Samples have these leds attached? So their GEFORCE GTX Logo's would light up the same way as the GTX 690 ones do?

I seek information since I once did research of the GTX 480's and 580's in the past, I just interest these things and yeah obtaining such an Engineering Sample would always be awesome of course

Here my topic about them GeForce Led Logo's on the 480 & 580 cards:
http://forums.evga.com/fb.ashx?m=924985

Which resulted why the GTX 590's has the GTX 480 GeForce logo's over the GTX 580 ones :)

That is the same connection as 690 for LED function, it was not populated though.

Now if we can solder on a connector and take a 690 LED we can have the same effect on 680s.

    Desktop: Intel Core i7 5820k | 32GB DDR4 2400Mhz | AMD Fury X | Samsung SSD Raid0 | EVGA SuperNOVA 1300 G2 | Onkyo TX-NR838 | Samsung UN40JU6700 Curved | Corsair K95 RGB | Razer Mamba | P26055 | FS-20495

    CS Phoenix Laptop: Intel Core i7 6700K | 16GB DDR4 2400Mhz | nVidia GeForce GTX 980 | 512GB Samsung 950 Pro M.2 SSD | 2x330w AC Adapters

Ahhh many thanks Jacob!  Was it ever populated with some Engineering Samples? I want to know this because I am trying to help a friend that collects such cards :)

He just obtained this GTX 480 Engineering Sample with GeForce Led Logo:

It has a GF100-375-A2 GPGPU :) But it's the one with 480 Fermi CUDA Cores, shamefully not the one with 512 Fermi CUDA Cores the one I seek hehe

Well in theory this is possible, yes sir
