As stated above.

Do you think there's going to be a K|ngp|n Edition like in the 980 or 980Ti

We'll probably be Lucky if we see a 1080 Ti.

The whole point (as I understand it) of a KPE Edition is to break LN2 records. As it stands the 1080 doesn't really have a shot of beating the 980 Ti KPE so there wouldn't be much point. Given how well the big die on the Titan XP performs, I think there is a good chance we will see a 1080 Ti KPE. Lord knows at what price.... I don't want to know.

I'd be really interested to see how HBM2 performs under LN2.

What's are you talking about. Kingpin hit 2600Mhz on a 1080 and had the highest single card bench for a small while, till the new Titan came out.

Pretty sure 4 way still belongs to the 980 Ti KPE (sans TXP).

    If I don't get a 1080 Kingpin, I'm gonna cry. :(

Do you think EVGA has no plans since 980 Kingpin sales were so low?

It's not the 980 KPE's fault the Maxwell Titan X came out three weeks later.

Doubtful.  The 1080 cards aren't really seeing any improvements (in general) with more power phases and custom PCB.  So, release a KPE that does what the Classified does for more money?

Why? Why would you "cry" when Volta will come out in less than 2 years for consumers which will smoke this 1080KPE?

I bought the 980 KPE for significantly lower than initially priced... I am curious why people are so fascinated with a super expensive card that performs nearly the exact same as the card that costs 2/3rds the price of a KPE?

Why? For the RGB? The FTW and classified has that now. So that definitely can't be it.

For the Memory Heater? On air? No... I can't fathom why people beg to pay so much more for the exact same features with a different PCB.

It has to be simply for the name..

Backs his previous statement in this thread a month ago that there are no plans for the KPE.
