Hi. My card is 980 Ti reference, no oc.
So i have a weird problem with Witcher3.

Randomly when I alt-tab from Witcher3 to windows and try to alt-tab back in my display driver will crash briefly and the game will disconnect me. Then it will black screen and driver crash.
And then pop up: " 353.06 nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered"

Second situation.

Usually after loading a savegame witcher 3 will crash driver instantly ( when game world is loaded ). Then it will black screen and driver crash.
And then pop up: " 353.06 nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered"

So is this related to driver or my card? It happens sometimes after 1 second after i load a savegame and gameworld appear.
It just randomly crashing display driver sometimes after 1-2 seconds after i loaded game, never when playing. I can play 24 hours without single crash. Is this related to my card?

Upgrade to the 353.30 drivers, it fixes many crashes especially those related to google chrome.  Use driver uninstaller to remove your current one entirely.  Monitor clock speeds and gpu temps with precision X and let us know how things are running when the crashes occur upon game loading.

Best way to try is to overclock graphic card 100MHz...
If she finish all 3DMark tests than probably is only problem with specific game...
Why you didn't both at least GTX980Ti SC reference model. With that series you evade worse samples.
With TITAN X situation is different, full chip and people will more often to find some excellent sample because only reference cards are available, only EVGA make SC and Hybrid, Hydro Copper overclocked, all others are random... and than is much better SC. But GTX980Ti is better to concentrate on SC models because lot of chips will go for Classified, Hybrid, Matrix, Lightening, G1, all of them are over 100MHz overclocked... and it would be very hard to find something really good with GTX980Ti refernce. From other side GTX980Ti SC give you TITAN X speed and even if card can't overclock high you have nice 100MHz.
For reference model that's not bad.

Weird because this is reference card , no oc.  Also I tested Unigine Heaven Extreme for 24 hours without crash.
I discovered that is crashing on 1177mhz.
I think card is just not stable on maxed auto boost.  Clock at start is 1177mhz then is decreasing due to temperature to lower values, like 1150mhz and then 1100mhz. And on 1177mhz witcher 3 simply can crash randomly display driver. ( ( for example : start of loaded game or back to game from windows alt tab ). Can i be right then? Card is not OC, itsSTOCK, auto max at start is 1177mhz. Any ideas?

Yes, as suggested...do a clean install of the newest driver 353.30.  It fixed many crashes for me.

Did you try to keep fan speed on 70-75%, with reference models that's completely normal?
You can't leave fan on Auto and start games. Unigine Heaven 4.0 will not tell you always what happen with graphic card, special last two architectures.
She need to pass 3DMark 11 Full Experience with Demo on Performance and Extreme... That's 3 times I think.
And need to pass 3DMark 2013 together all tests on Performance and Xtreme... you need to take look in Event Viewer driver can't crash during testing.
Maybe even and Ultra settings is not available just to be sure. Stable card will pass that easy...
But only if one time she stuck somewhere there are big chance that something is wrong.

I noticed that when the Core Clock passes 1177mhz ( auto boost ) the game crashs ( for example : start of loaded game or back to game from windows alt tab )... so... its a clock problem at STOCK SPEEDS!?

Yes if you didn't OC than she is unstable on stock speed.
Did you tried with fan speed on 80% and to start 3DMark 2013?

I made 2 loops on 3dmaark 13 performance without crash. I made 1 hour 3dmaark 11 demo extreme loop without crashes. But if it crashing display driveer on 1177mhz in Witcher 3 ( after load of savegames or back from alt tab to game ) my card is not stable ? RMA?

I wish my witcher 3 crashes were just the drivers crashing but instead i am forced to restart the computer.

So the same thing happens with fresh installed 353.30?

If you want to further reduce crashes, you could even try the hotfix driver 353.38 which is what I'm using.  I don't get crashes anymore.

I could repeat you two days but you not listen me... Did you tried 3DMark with 80% fan speed or card crash immediately on full boost in any application?
You can leave MSI AB or EVGA Precision X monitoring software and to check latter what happen.

I am using auto fan speeds ( 55% ). Also this is Witcher 3 only that is crashing on start full boost only ( after loaded games, and after alt tab from windows ). During game when boost decrease i can play 24 hours without single crash.

Should i return my card due to random display driver crashing in 3dmark 11 demo ?or its drivers problem?
