I've a reference GTX 970 and the best I can do is +250 on the core, from there on up to +270 it will seems to be fine for a few minutes and then it'll either completely crash my system or just the driver will crash.
Raising the voltage seems to do absolutely nothing.

I don't know if these means anything or not but my ASIC is 71.7% and my VDDC is 1.2 underload

In my experience of reading reviews, forum member's clocks, and YouTube, anything over 1450 mhz is pretty good.  If you hit 1500, that's great.

I guess I should be grateful for a somewhat good overclocker

1500 is a great result. Par for the course seems to be about 1450. These 970's are like EVGA's Sandy Bridge. They overclock so well and so high without much effort people felt cheated when they couldn't get 5 Ghz.

Is your card a reference model?

The only review I've seen for the SSC they were only able to get about 1450 with it.

Sorry, I missed the part that he had a reference card.  I also was not aware that there was that large of a difference in  stock clocks.

I guess I should feel fortunate as well then.  I bench mine at ~1550, but my everyday game stable is 1515/8000.

I was happy with a game/bench stable 1510Mhz.  Maybe we can get more when you can play with the voltages more on these EVGA cards.
