    Umm..
    What?!

I read the whole thing and still feel like I have no idea what I read. Did I dead an rant? Or did I read an ad? Or was it spam? What? Basically, from my understanding "we were hacked. or we were hijacked. or i am not sure but something happened. then we spammed crazy claims all over the internet and people deleted them because they didn't know how to interpret out incoherent rant." That isn't an actual quote; that's just how I heard it in my head as I was reading the 'article'.

It seemed like someone is trying extremely hard to be a victim for a mass of population which didn't notice and don't see why they should care.

You got farther into the article than I did.   I made it to the end of the first paragraph and gave up.

MSFT basically hijacked my site for each page using an embedded excel chart and redirected them all
So I am now slowly replacing all my graphics with new ones that do not depend on Excel etc for anything

If you block the ad blocking, I block your site, simple as that. Pretty much the same reason I stopped watching TV, too many ads. (and political garbage) I buy box sets or use other methods to view the programs/ sites I want to see. I do not need to have videos pop up about things I was not looking for, much less products I'm not interested in blasted all over my screen. I'm pretty sure I know what I was looking for without some website telling me I may be interested in something totally unrelated to the original subject I was searching.

Really? I have run my site for so many years, before I ran a BBS with DOS games. Recently I upped DOS 6.22 with Hyper-V so I could play some of the old DOS games I gave.

My assumption is you posted that link because you wanted peer commentary on your article. If not, you're just using your site as a platform to whine about something. Your article is neither informative nor entertaining. What about the article is something others would want to know? It reads like you did something odd with your configuration of your site and it didn't work like you wanted it too -- therefore you wanted to tell the world how corporate entities have wronged you in the process. One would assume that you'd find a solution instead of writing an article if it was really important to you?

I run several business sites that use WordPress. Heck, I even SYSOPed a few BBSes in the 80's. That doesn't magically make me credible either.

I disabled comments on WP as spam bots are hard to cope with so to save time administering I use forums

I ask, is it right to hijack a web site for some asinine license agreement change, what happened to email?

I feel two ways about ads. I do realize how they are helpful and may help provide revenue for small time youtubers, website creaters, etc. I enable ads on my favorite youtubers to support them. BUT our world literally revolves around advertisements now, it is literally impossible to go a single day without seeing hundreds of ads in some way or another. Subconsciously ads affect the way we think and affect the way our children think. Its easy to argue that our everyday actions are affected by advertisements. People have become so oblivious to advertisements around them that they barely even realize they are there. When you stop and actually think about it, its absurd how many advertisements exist in our culture now. Very off topic to the thread but I wrote a paper about it a few years so I wanted to give my .02 lol
