I have a evga gtx 1070 ftw and I can hear a coil whine.... I have the pc next to table, the card is inside the case. I can hear it from 3 feet away, it's louder than my loud fans. Is it something to worry, should I RMA, or any fix?

Welcome to the forums..See the EVGA FAQ: What is coil whine, and how does it affect my video card?

Coil whine may even go away after a while..My card whined for almost two weeks when new, and then nothing..But yeah, follow what it says in the FAQ..An RMA may ultimately be in order.

it might be my power supply? I'm using a cheapo power supply (model number hpl-800br-f14s) which I think is causing the issue. I have EVGA 600B in my other rig , I will swap it out tomorrow, see if it makes a difference. I doubt it will but it's not bad to give it a try.

Yeah, that's entirely possible along with the other things in the FAQ.

My 1080 SC has awful coil whine with my AX760.

Tried it on a different system with a EVGA G2 650W - still awful.

Got an advanced RMA for another 1080 SC. Just as bad in both systems.

GTX Titan has no whine at all.

Unfortunately EVGA have ran out of 1080 SC so offered a 1080 FTW as a replacement, shame it won't fit.

i have coil whine as well on my 1070 FTW..i just sent an email to evga to ask about it and see what they say , ill repost what i hear from them..the whine is pretty loud , i can hear it through my closed case, its the loudest sound my pc makes very strange...i have an corsair hxi 1000 psu , and my motherboard is the evga classified K so those most likely aren't causing the whine...
