Hi all, i am building a new PC for advanced gaming (nothing 4K crazy) and AR / 3D animation. I saw the GTX 960 FTW and i thought it could prove to be very good choice for the recent gaming titles + some 3d rendering and design work. My only concern is the 2GB memory.. Will they be enough given the EVGA OC? also i will be using LG 25-UM58-P that is 2560x1080.. Im on really tight budget so i don't know if i could afford GTX970 4GB, without sacrificing something else on the build.

For processor i have Intel i5-6600K and Mobo is MSI z170 Tomahawk

For one GTX 960, 2GB of memory is not a big limiting factor.  By "not a limiting factor" I mean that you start running out of memory bandwidth and GPU core performance anyway by the time you start bumping up against that 2GB limit.  If you ever plan to buy a second one for SLI on the other hand, 2GB will be a regret.

Overall, I think you will regret buying any version of GTX 960 for "advanced gaming".  The GTX 960 is not a terribly powerful card.  If you can't afford a $220 4GB version of the GTX 960 instead of the $180 2GB version of the GTX 960, then I guess you probably won't be able to afford a $250 GTX 1060.  I am just throwing the idea out there though since the GTX 1060 has substantially better performance than the GTX 960.  You may also consider buying a GTX 970 used for somewhere around $200.

You really should read reviews about that card... especially for gaming this version of the 900-series limits itself. Do yourself a favour and buy at least a 970 +++. 2GB are not more up to date.

With the prices so close to a new GTX-960 or 970 I don't see why you don't spring for a nice new GTX-1060: http://www.evga.com/Products/ProductList.aspx?type=0&family=GeForce+10+Series+Family&chipset=GTX+1060

get a 1060, the 960 just doesn't have the power for modern titles or looking ahead. a 1060 will more than double a 960 benchmark like heaven 4.0

970 is okay on a deal but i would still go 1060 if you plan on keeping it a couple of years
