part of me thinks that if amd makes a comeback why would it hurt to expand your market? wonder is nvidia/intel's contract with them have any issues?

Certainly they aren't going to do it while AMD controls their piddly 15% of the consumer CPU market. Which is not even mentioning how they are even further behind than Intel in the enthusiast space. The 6-core Thuban, while they did price it into the ground, still doesn't convincingly beat the i7 920, despite being 18 months behind in development. Hell, I've seen benchmarks where the X6 1090 doesn't beat the i5 750, and with +2 cores and +18 months of development, it should have whupped serious ass. Enthusiasts aren't going to bother with AMD until they come out with a convincing product, and right now, going for the price/performance ratio isn't working for them because the i7 920 was just too good. Now the i7 950 has dropped to $300.

I guess majority will win. I have always wanted a EVGA Quadro card but they just dont have one because the demand is low. Im pretty sure the same applies to AMD board and GPUS's

For everyones sake I hope AMD gets some kind of boost in their CPU development. Cause if they stay where they are at right now, it's not looking good. We might be looking at some very high prices if Intel ever takes the market entirely.

AMD ftw with Nvidia cards.
My computers are liquid cooled while my vehicles are air cooled.

As long as they did not release another garbage board like they did with the 730a I could live with it. I love my AMD Processors and will never go to back to Intel again (That is mainly due to Intel's arrogant, stuck-up, nasty customer service not the product it's self). Come on EVGA Toss us a bone here give us AMD Lovers a AMD Board we wanna play too!! hehe

Yes, AMD's customer service is pretty good, eventhough they messed up the first time they were extremly helpful the second. The reason I moved away from AMD is because of an issue I had with their first generation Phenom processors. I had went through 3 phenom's before I finally gave up and went Intel. I had purchased a 9600 black edition, it would not load windows. Second one would load, but there was something wrong with it... Lots of errors and pretty slow getting around applications. I then noticed they didn't give me the black edition like I had RMA'd... But by the time I noticed this was the wrong processor, I had all ready sold it on eBay. I called up AMD and told them that they had given me the wrong processor and they said it would be fine to send it back to get the right one. I sent it back and they shipped the processor to the person I sold it to on eBay, it was extremly conveniant. I was so happy with the service I gave them one more attempt. The 9850BE had just came out, so I got that... and what'd ya know, dead out of the box. There is a chance it was my Asus motherboard too... I went through 3 levels of support through them (took 1 hour to finally get to tier 3) and I am told my motherboard does not support the Phenom 9850, eventhough their latest BIOS release had "Updates for AM3 socket processors." right in it. Anyway, got hung up on twice, never got a call back from the 3rd call, it was extremly frustraiting waisting 2 and a half hours of my time to be tossed around and get nothing done. Please EVGA, make a AMD board, so we don't have to deal with horrible customer service! lol

@ RainStryke I had a few problems before just like yours as well, then the Phenom came out and I got the "00" series before they fixed the cores to the "50" 9750 9950 ect. Ya I was pretty tweaked, and as for ASUS Tech or Customer Support, I would rather pull the eye teeth out of a lion that is having a really bad day LOL!

Its been said over and over. Until AMD makes the better/faster product that hands down beats the 1366 chips, its just not going to happen. Personally, Id rather keep to just intel.
