I am really happy with this cards reviews. The fact it preforms on par with a 2080 Super and has RTX that is good really makes me happy. I thought they might have Ray tracing support as like a "yeah it can kind of do ray tracing at the lowest setting" but this thing beats the AMD 6800XT at ray tracing performance. Last generation it seemed ray tracing was expensive to get into and not a lot of games really supported it but that has changed. Having a 3060Ti now support ray tracing at the level of a 2080 Super really changes the number of people who will be able to have ray tracing for 1080p and 1440p gaming. The reviews really make this card seem really impressive as it's the affordable option that puts in hands a card that used to cost about $800.

I have a few questions. Is it possible for me to change my "Step-Up to a 3070" and change it to a 3060ti?

I purchased an RTX 2060 KO Ultra back at the end of September (still well within the 90 days), then signed up for the Step-Up program once the 3070 went up on the Step-Up list. I'd like to cancel the 3070 order and start a 3060ti Step-Up instead. Am I able to do that? The 2060 KO Ultra is no longer listed as a "step-up eligible" product. If I cancel the 3070 order, will it even let me place a 3060ti order?

Is the 3060ti inventory expected to be more abundant than the 3070? I'm wanting to get the 3060ti simply because I imagine that the stock will be more obtainable than the 3070. Is that wrong to assume?

As long as you are still in your 90 days step up period you can cancel and do a different step up as often as you like. Go for it.

Ok good. Even if the 2060 KO Ultra doesn't appear on the list of the eligible upgradeable devices?

I'm gonna hold a bit and see if the 3070 or 3060's have more stock. I was hoping to get one before Cyberpunk, but we'll see..

I have a spot for the 3070 from 11-8-2020. Can I move that spot to the 3060ti? I just registered for the 3060ti yesterday. I want whichever I can get first I really don't care. I have a 780 on its last leg and a AM3 FX680 that is 6 years old. I'm dying here trying to build something for Cyberpunk 2077.

No you can't move it.  When you sign up you can either keep the spot or get rid of it, not switch it do different cards.

Hello!

Can anyone with the FTW3 tell me what the maximum allowed power is (110%, 120% etc)? Like, overclocking in software (precision or Afterburner), what's the maximum target power limit allowed to set on this card?

Thank's very much for any help! Trying to compare cards.

Re: Introducing the EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 2021/03/09 17:31:03 (permalink)
Alright, it's been a couple months. I am craving disassembly. Anyone tried a different thermal paste yet? Probably not worth it, but I am curious. I would love to see some other results before being the guinea pig, but as a mechanic, sometimes I just gotta get my hands dirty and I am planning a case swap from a TU150 to a Define Nano S, so the opportunity to disassemble will present itself fairly soon. Just not happy with the TU150, and I had plans on removing the shroud to use case fans but not with the FTW3 Ultra. Too thin. Anyways, how is everyone's ti treating them? I feel that people who are looking for a 3060 are buying a piece of junk TBH... what point is that much VRAM on that tier of card? Also, is the ti dead? There has been nothing in months. This release of GPU's is so shady across the board. Back when I built my 6700k/1070 there was TONS of info and options. Kind of sad to see so little testing and tweaking 5 years into the future. If the opportunity presented itself to grab a better overclocker of this card (over 108%) I would probably try to jump on it and just sell the one I have. I can't go above +40 but I can maintain a +1000 on memory at least. Either way, FPS at that level is + or - about 5 from my testings... so some games I don't even bother. Red Dead plays better OC'd tho, and that is my current favorite. Anyone getting "silicon lottery" results? From what I have seen online is most people pushing above 2050 (stable and constant) on the ti's are using other (non EVGA) cards. Come on ti owners, don't let those filthy non ti 6 series owners get more attention. They don't deserve it ;)
