Ok well I am not that intelligent but that is what I will be calling my new build/upgrade. I have finally decided to make the switch from AMD to INTEL and I can not wait until I get it finished. I will be using almost everything I already have but instead of my amd board and chip obviously which have been sold in order to fund this switch, I will be using an i5-2550K and an Asus z68-V GEN3 board. I will list the specs below and post pics once my board and chip arrive sometime mid-week.
First off I will start with the processor. I will be upgrading to an i5-2550K. I was going to grab an i5-2500K but I was able to score a 2550K off someone here on the forums. It was a tough decision but it made it affordable overall.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115230 Second I will be using an Asus z68-V Gen3 Board. I was going to go with an EVGA board but again a member on these forums struck me with an awesome trade I couldn't refuse making it possible for me to make the intel jump
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131792 I will be using my EVGA GTX560SC until I can either upgrade it or trade/sell it for a different video card. I am planning on trying to get a GTX480 of the same member but it looks like not many are interested in my 560. =/
http://www.evga.com/products/moreInfo.asp?pn=01G-P3-1461-KR&family=GeForce%20500%20Series%20Family&sw= I will be using my existing dual channel memory of G.Skill 1600Mhz DDR3 2x4g sticks at 8-8-8-24 2t. I love these stick mainly because of their color. Blue is my favorite color!
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231445 I will be using my Cooler Master Hyper 212+ for the time being. I plan on switching to WC someday but that won't be for a while for I have some debts still needing to be paid off.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065 And thank you so much to another generous awesome member who gave me one hell of a deal I am able to power this all up by using a Corsair HX1000 PSU.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139007 All of this will be cooled with Air for the time being and it will all call the Cooler Master Haf 912 home again! I wish I could upgrade it to a full tower but I can not at this time. I plan on one day getting a Haf X or something similar.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119233&Tpk=Haf%20912 I will also be upgrading my IDE Dvd drive, FINALLY, thanks to an awesome member of these forums as well. Same member who traded me the mobo/cpu combo. So I will finally be able to get rid of that nasty huge cable that lurks with in my system.
Now all I need to do is learn how to sleeve my cables, and get up enough money to buy materials to sleeve my cables white and blue or just blue.
i5-2550K
Asus z68-V Gen3
EVGA GTX560SC(Non TI)
G.Skill 8g DDR3 1600Mhz
Corsair HX1000
Cooler Master Hyper 212+
Cooler Master Haf 912
This build will stay with in my original and all time theme which will probably never change, Blue and White. I love the blue and well the white just works well with the blue. Also since it is the color of some of the parts of my new motherboard I have to throw it in there.
I know I have gone from basically nothing to having a mid level type gaming rig, maybe not even though. So basically this is all not that huge of an upgrade, but once the doctor clears me and I am allowed to work again finally I will have room to upgrade to the new IB cpu! =P
I will already have pci-e 3.0 capabilities so when I am finally able to buy the new series cards it won't go to waste once I can snag an IB cpu!
My future goal for this rig is to basically be upgraded to an IB processor and ultimately an EVGA GTX 680 Classified. But this will not happen for some time so that gpu might be what ever is to be released in the future. 700series cards or w.e. How ever I have been overly excited and anxious to finally make the jump to intel so I figured I would share where I would stand towards the end of the week. Again I will include pictures of all components going into this.
So here it is! The intelligent esCo! This is the platform I will be working off of from now! =D
Here is the pictures of all the components in my rig minus the case box.
As you can see I am still using the same components as before except for the motherboard and processor.
Here is the Motherboard and processor alone not in the case.
Here is a close up of my new processor! =D
And here is everything put together and ready to rock. I need to take another picture of what it actually looks like in my case because the cables are better hidden with my HDD cage in there.
Intelligent esCo is now complete. Here is a powered off picture!
Here she is running strong! =D
I am currently running at 4.5Ghz with a vcore of 1.3. Going to try and lower the voltage some and hope I can get it below 1.29ish. I will try for 5.0Ghz in the near future but am concerned if I try to on air I will blow something up. =D Thanks for looking and be sure to check out my mods rigs page please and comment!
http://www.modsrigs.com/detail.aspx?BuildID=29428 I have now reached a stable 4.8Ghz. Unfortunately I had to bump the voltage up quite a bit to 1.375. Here are some screenies!
Here is one running Intelburn showing the temps.

And here is the success! =D
