Definitely looks better, and looks to have better performance, and better at dissipating heat.

We can only hope they dissipate heat better. My 5930k runs so hot even under a full loop.

Maybe I need to re-apply my thermal paste on my 6850K (@4.1 Ghz) but core #2 and core #4 get very hot for me with a Noctua NH-D15S (single fan). I have a second fan on the way for the heat sink.

Core #1 and core #0 are pretty cold if you look at the max value in below screenshot (this was with 20+mins of prime95 stress testing with 27 deg C abmient temp.

I like i7-6850K to, but I would like ES, that would be honor for me only if he is 100% same as retail.
That would be nice if ES give same performance to play game and overclock him.
i7-6850K is on my wishes list. Intel have thousands of ES and they will be destroyed... Imagine that.

Many processors are with temp difference on some cores, some of them with 10-12C difference are amazing overclockers.
My i7-5820K only last core is little colder, max 7-8C. Example in idle all cores are same or 1C difference only last is 3-4C temp difference.
From other side i7-3770K had bigger difference and was excellent overclocker.

rjohnson11 that's your new processors or...?
I put ad on marketplace in my country before month if someone sell ES or cheaper i7-6850K but for now nothing.
For Haswell-EX I saw much more offers, and I bought for 280 euro, retail. But for Broadwell-EX nothing and I NEED HIM!!!
Imagine i7-6850K on 4.4GHz....like i7-5820K on 4.8GHz for gaming... Best model for gamers.

Scarlet-Tech is right... Broadwell-EX is nicer from both sides than Haswell-EX.

Re: Intel Core i7-6850K Pictured, Tested 2016/09/08 10:18:10 (permalink)
I don't even tried to OC mine.
Before I bought i7-3770K my only wish was full stability on 4.5GHz because rumors that Ivy is bad and not good for overclocking.
Later I figure out that i7-3770K was best i7 with DDR3 memory, and I reached 4.8GHz Prime95 AVX Stable 12h+...
Only temperature stop me to reach 5.0GHz prime stable and shock to all people who blame Ivy.
He worked on 95C as on 55C, while SB couldn't behave good on over 80-85C.
Than when I didn't had money for custom loop I completely stop to pay attention on silicon lottery. It's pointless, I mean pointless for me, no matter what I get I only have H100. When I had very good chip with 1.3V on 4.8GHz I would reach 5 with 1.4 or 1.425V and both voltages was not so high for watercooling, not for every day but for benchmark OK.
Before I bought i7-5820K my only wish was 4.0GHz stable without voltage increase and I tried that, he never crash, he was tested very good with 4.0GHz and 3.5GHz Cache voltage didn't touch. I suppose that he could work on 4.3-4.4 GHz at least only is question how much voltage need. But for 4.4GHz I have no cooling.
Maybe not even for 4.3 depend of voltage. But I could keep with lower voltage on 4.2 when I replace fan, because silence is important factor.
But I would like to have one i7-6850K capable to work on 4.4GHz without insane voltage.
That would be awesome. For him 4.4GHz is same distance as 4.0GHz for me, maybe is even 4.5GHz not so hard, but I doubt, Intel increase clock and that influence on
    overclocking.

You see how middle of CPU on back side is nicer than on Haswell-EX...
But I don't lose hope maybe I will find one. i7-6800K is not so interesting for me, with i7-6850K I could beat two with one hit, and 40 PCI-E lanes and higher frequency new generation.

So, 5820K vs 6800K vs 6850K. They worth messing with at all? My 5820K OCs just fine.

This is why I went all the way to the Intel Xeon E5-2680v4 this time around.

Intel Xeon 2680 V4 is available to me for 800e and 2683 V4 for 950 euro.
There are and 2683 V3 for 450 euro. But ES, not retail.

Why I can"t find so affordable i7-6850K smrc, smrc...
I'm so hot for one i7-6850K ES, special if he could work on 4.5GHz, but I would be satisfied with even 4.2 or 4.4GHz.
