I just order my thermal pads for my GTX 1070 FTW. I just wanna know if I take it apart and say something goes wrong while taking apart the GPU will EVGA send me a new card with the Thermal pads install?

I doubt anything will happen with or without the pads or installing them I just wanna be safe and know what is going on.

    Welcome to the Forum Zirtex,
You may want to ask your Local Computer Store Tech if they do this type of Support and have them do it for you.
Posting alone shows that you have a little Fear in doing it yourself. And their is nothing wrong with that.

Perhaps a little OT, but does anyone know what the average approval time is for the thermal pad request?  I requested about a week ago, and my request is still awaiting approval.
Edit: Side note, is EVGA also providing thermal paste for the GPU since it will need to be reapplied, or should I order some?

Mine is also still on "waiting approval" I suppose it's going to take some time to organize. I just hope they take into account that some countries are actually in their summer season... and prioritize accordingly.

Ok, that makes sense, I'm not really worried regardless, as I haven't had any issues besides a single bsod prior to the vbios update, and my case air flow and personal fan curve keeps the card fairly cool anyway, I just am looking at additional cooling as being a good thing, and worth the effort.

  • Q. What happens if my card is accidentally damaged during the optional thermal pad installation?
  • A. EVGA will stand behind its customers with full warranty and cross-shipment.
